If you didn't already know, Tesla truck VINs are decoded as follows:

Digits 1 to 3 = 7G2 (for Tesla truck; includes Cybertrucks and Semis)

Digit 4 = C (for Cybertruck); T (for Tesla Semi)

Digit 5 = E (for Cybertruck chassis/cabin); B (for Semi chassis/cabin)

Digit 6 = G (for RWD or AWD Cybertruck; GVWR 8,001 to 9,000 lbs); H (for Cyberbeasts; GVWR 9,001 to 10,000 lbs); 8 (for Semi; GVWR 33,001+ lbs).

Just got allocated a 2026 that arrives next week. I’m in a dilemma because I just picked up a used 2025 Beast with 1k miles and the luxe package for almost the same price. Trying to figure out what to do with this order as I am locked into the $7500 tax rebate, $1k military and $1k loyalty discount.

Should I buy and then resell brand new?

You have a BEAST ...is the other a long range? I'd be super happy to have your 1000 miler.

OK, I was wrong. I checked the specs in the Cybertruck Owner's Manual, and it lists Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings (GVWRs) as follows:

RWD: 8,199 lbs. Digit 6 = G

AWD or Cyberbeast with All-Season Tires: 8,823 lbs (AWD) or 8,863 lbs (CB). Digit 6 = G

AWD or Cyberbeast with All-Terrain Tires: 9,169 lbs. Digit 6 = H

For clarification, I already purchased a used 2025 Beast with the Luxe package. Unfortunately I did lose the free supercharging and data but everything else kept as is. Put Duratracs on it today and have tint, PPF and full plastic wrap by abstract ocean planned for this upcoming week.

The main purpose of the post was just to let everyone know 2026s are hitting lots now. Tesla bought back my 2024 AWD FS this week so I needed a new truck. I was in the process of requesting the buyback when 1 October hit, so I placed an order for a normal AWD CT just in case they bought it back I could qualify for the rebates. I stumbled across the beast last week and it was a no brainer to buy that instead.

Now essentially I have this AWD 2026 CT pending delivery next week. Trying to figure out if I should buy it also and sell for a few thousand under MSRP so I can help someone out with a cheaper brand new 2026 AWD and maybe make a few bucks. Or do I just let it go and lose my $250 deposit.

would like to see some pictures of the full Abstract Ocean install when done. IMHO stay with the Beast.

The CT average price has been stagnant for months, even with (Low APR, Leases, Luxe, etc.) we are a long way from 250k sold per year.

Sell us our $69k Tri-motor for all the average new owner(s) who are still on the fence.

Your profile indicates that you are in Oklahoma. Well, even without the federal tax credit, the US easily has the lowest Cybertruck prices in the world.

In the six other countries where the CT is available for ordering (Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates), an AWD CT starts at over $100,000 (US dollar equivalent).

Tesla is more “era-based” than “year model-based.” All auto makers are to some degree, but Tesla seems to be more so in their own way. All CTs up to this point are essentially the same thing. ‘24-‘26 will have extremely few differences. Only reason this question should be considered is if the ‘26s came with AI5, which they don’t. Not yet at least.

Just read somewhere that AI5 is a 2027 proposition: Elon wants thousands of AI5 ready to go before he puts them into production.

This is interesting. As I have a 11/24 build AWD with core wheels/ All Seasons, but my VIN has an H, not a G. Wonder if the wheels/tires got swapped somewhere along the way. Did I win or lose with this anomaly?

That does seem odd. Check the "Vehicle Certification Label" on the driver's door jamb. Should specify the vehicle-specific GVWR and the factory tires. I would guess that the label takes precedence over whatever might be encoded in the VIN.

As stated by Tesla:

The Vehicle Certification label specifies the weight ratings for Cybertruck based on the tires that were installed at time of manufacture and the tire pressures indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label. However, the weight ratings will change if you change the factory-installed tires or inflate tires to a pressure that differs from those shown on the Tire and Loading Information label.

If the factory tires shown on the label are LT285/65R20, that should be All-Terrain. If the factory tires are 285/65R20 (without the "LT") that should be All Season.
