I got the equivalent of 467 miles of estimated range, with the following conditions:

- Drove 55MPH max. Laws of aerodynamics apply favorably to the CT.
- 130 mile trip. First 30 miles were driven up, over and down Pennsylvania's Appalachian mountains on twisty gravel roads. Regen braking in full-effect.
- It was 83 farenheight, and 70 degrees inside. Windows closed. Tonneau and gate closed.
- Dirty, from all the mountain driving.
- Wind calm.

Calculation:
122KWH battery / .261 kwh per mile = 467 miles range.

Not too far off the original 500 mile Tesla estimate. Makes me happy! Thank you thank you thank you Tesla for boldly going where no one has gone before!

Who knows how many miles range you could get by driving 45 MPH over a flat course, as a publicity stunt?

Love it! Thanks for sharing. I appreciate seeing various driving scenarios to understand better what to expect in each. Not every drive is highway, cross-country.

My daily commute is like what you described, although shorter, thankfully.

What tires and wheel covers do you have? Are the fairings in place?

Here's a better photo of the energy used.

You really aren't telling the whole story. To have that much Regen, you had a lot of elevation drop. In only about 20 miles, I suspect that your range showed much better as the orange peak rolled off.

You had a 75 mile downhill. You can't get that much green on flat land.

That is awesome, I've never been able to get below 325wh/mi.

What I came to say. Your going to run out of downhill eventually. I got -260 something once in y model S coming down the mountains. At that rate I would have infinate range.

What @Woodrick said.

One of the fascinating things about the telemetry provided by EV's is that they allow us to easily see quite small changes in elevation. Roads that seem entirely "flat" overall turn out not to be, once driven in both directions.

Going one direction over a mountain is probably the ultimate wildcard in real world EV range disappointment/joy. You're either going to be very happy or very sad.

Go back the other direction to "complete" the trip and you'll have a much more grounded picture of what's what.

Your overall point about CT performance when driven thoughtfully is well taken, though. The CT does much better than its size would suggest. And taking it into the mountains is always great fun!

Green on that graph isn't regen though, it's where actual energy usage was better than rated. There are only 4 regions where energy was being put back into the pack.

Which isn't to say there wasn't a helpful net convertion of potential energy over the trip.
@Taildragger, what were the start and end points, or their elevations?

Lol. So ridiculous.

I get a -32kw/m when I leave my Property at 5k ft elev after a charge for a 20 mile downhill to 1200ft but doesn't mean squat, just like this post.

Isn't there enough negativity and cybertruck hate to go around without us being contentious with each other?

The guy ran a decent length route under these circumstances and got these results. Full stop.

There is no claim that needs dispute.

This was the second time I got the high-mileage results, so it is repeatable. The last time I observed it, it had an estimated range of 486 miles.
