Some of us like the look of wood.

I owned a 100 year old house with solid oak floors and trim. The prior owners had painted much of the trim in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. I spent a lot of time stripping the paint from that fabulous oak. I could tell exactly the years they painted as I took off white paint, avocado green paint, PeptoBismol pink paint, etc.

We sold our last house in Denver right after I had finished remodeling the office, including all custom cabinets (I built them myself), wainscoting, etc.

I literally went in to sign the closing papers and told them: "That's all custom quarter sawn white oak, please don't paint over it".

Hey, be nice. Kitchen remodeling is epensive. Some of us cannot afford (especially while saving for a CT) to remodel every time fashion changes.
