In Oklahoma, vehicle taxes are generally based on the purchase price shown on the sales documents, not the window sticker. So if Tesla lists the truck at $59,990 on the purchase agreement, that's likely the amount Oklahoma will tax. If they structure it as $69,990 with a separate $10,000 discount, thenI am not sure how that works. The window sticker showing ~$71K by itself shouldn't determine the taxTo be clear, that is what the window sticker said ?
Where I live the town excise tax is computed on the sticker price, not the price you paid. If you buy a new vehicle with a MSRP of $71k and actually pay $61k you are taxed on the full MSRP amount.
That would kinda suck... The state sales tax here tacks on another 5.5%
