Anybody planning to upgrade to the HEPA filter or just wait till itโ€™s time to change?

I asked Gemini any issues using one in the SAWD. A lot of misinformation of folks saying thereโ€™s a different HVAC, etc. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The non-Foundation Standard AWD models do drop the Bioweapon Defense Mode software feature and ship from the factory with a basic, standard air filter instead of the heavy-duty one.

However, the great news regarding your true intent is yes, you can still absolutely buy that official $100 Tesla HEPA filter and install it.

Even though your truck doesn't have the software toggle to crank the fans and positively pressurize the cabin (Bioweapon Defense Mode), the physical structure under the hood is exactly the same across all Cybertruck trims. Tesla did not change the physical HVAC housing or the frunk apron design for the Standard AWD.y

Here is what you need to know about doing the swap:

Perfect Physical Fit: The basic factory filter sits in the exact same massive tray under the frunk access panels. The official HEPA filter will drop directly into that slot with zero modifications needed.

Passive Filtration Benefit: Even without the dedicated "Bioweapon" button to force high-pressure airflow, having the medical-grade HEPA media physically sitting in the intake tract means 99.97% of pollen, road dust, and fine particulates (PM_{2.5}) are still stopped dead before they reach your vents during regular climate control use.

The Install Process: You simply pop off the plastic frunk cosmetic maintenance apron, unscrew or unclip the filter housing door, pull the basic thin filter out, and slide this massive upgrade right in.

It is a highly recommended and incredibly easy hardware upgrade to give your truck the premium air quality setup.

What I want most for my poor mans Cybertruck are seat covers.
I use these these in my Model Y and love them. They are basically just towels with holes in them for the headrest. Extremely comfortable but not very durable.
Just search, "Towel Seat Cover" in Amazon.

Friend of mine just got these for his cyber truck.

I just saw them a few days ago and Iโ€™m about to order a set for mine after trying many many seat covers which all sucked.

These allow you to fold the rear seats halfway or all the way, and also allows the rear center armrest to come down to expose the cupholder.

And most importantly, they are airbag, friendly!

And they also cover the headrest which tended deteriorate the fastest!

Thereโ€™s no rear arm rest in the SAWD version.

One thing I will genuinely miss is the rear screen entertainment. Havenโ€™t seen this discussed much anywhere. I like having my kids watch movies and YouTube on roadtrips in my model 3 without bothering me. And the single annual subscription for premium connectivity is great.

Now, what options do we have for the 59kCT? Long shot, but will a retrofit of the premium CT part work? I guess it might not due to some firmware differences. If not what aftermarket solution would provide seamless integration?

I had a beast for a couple of days and I can say the rear screen is not designed for prolonged viewing due to being placed at knee level. Kids might have a slightly better time with it but an aftermarket headrest screen or handheld tablet would be a better option.
