So I have the 35 inch all-terrain tires on my CT. They look fantastic and they’ve been great in the snow and offloading. However, the other day I was very unhappy to discover that rolling over a screw which isn’t even 3/4 of an inch long is enough puncture the tire. The Tesla mobile service no longer repairs punctured tires. They will only replace a damaged tire. So I’m going to have the punctured tire patched, get a CT wheel for it and probably get the spare tire carrier for the back of the truck. The Tesla guy said he sees this all the time with CTs because their weight makes it easier to puncture a tire in a situation like this. Two questions: Does anybody know how much length the spare tire carrier with the tire on it will add to the CT? Also, somebody on this forum mentioned a 10-ply Kevlar all-terrain tire that they have on their CT. Any idea which tire they were talking about? Thanks and watch out for big head screws, laying face up on the pavement!

It’s the Goodyear Wranglers that have kevlar side-walls but that won’t help you with what you experienced.

How is it that I always bend the nail when hitting it with a hammer, but when lying flat on the road it goes straight into my tire??

For my next project, I'm just going to dump all the lumber and hardware in the road and run over it a few times

LT tires are thicker. I plan on putting LT tires on when the stock ones are toast.
This will not stop a puncture, but may prevent something small from causing a leak.

But, if you buy Michelins at Costco, they provide a less expensive option, come with free rotations for life, are nitrogen filled, and include a no-cost road hazard tire warranty. And that will help with what you experienced. One final plus: buy them in DE and pay no sales tax. They even had a $60 rebate last month on top of everything else! For me, a better tire (I do zero off roading), but carry meduim weight loads, and they are quiet on the highway- all important to me. YMMV

I’ve done about at least a half a dozen plugs on my Trucks and SUVs with ATs. Everything from nails, screws and even a bolt. Unless you’ve got thick Treads like Mud Terrains you’re going to eventually pick up a nail or screw and have a leak.
I do recommend a plug kit to save you time and money.

Anyone want to comment on purchasing tire warranty (like from Discount Tire/ America's Tire) for OEM tires? I recall several people here doing this to obtain road hazard warranty.

I do this with all of my new vehicles. After the initial set discount tire is the only place I go. Only variation is with my cyber truck because I needed to use my voucher and I got the DuraTracs with that.
