For the past month or so my CT has been making what sounds like bad bearings, coming from the front drive unit. I took it in to service and they confirmed the sound was not normal and that it was likely the front drive unit. I'm not sure if they mentioned it as being the inverter, motor or simply drive unit, but anyway...
Since the truck is not throwing any codes and performance isn't affected, I'm opting to keep driving it until it gives out. So far I've driven about 2,000 miles with it this way and it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse. Tesla service did make a note of the abnormal noise in my records, so when it does fail it will be covered by warranty even if it fails after warranty (in writing in the service notes).
Anyway, I was just wondering if others have come across a similar noise in their CT.
Sorry about the rattling jars in the first video.
I like my salsa and was on my way to work with it.
