Schafer Trail is amazing. But don't go much past "The Airport" Campground and I don't recommend you attempt Murphy's Hogback. The road is not busy, but you will encounter other vehicles. The shear drop offs can be quite intimidating.

Lastly - DO NOT GO DOWN IF IT HAS OR IS ABOUT TO RAIN. The soils and dirt turns into slippery mud that cakes the tires. You will slide all over the place.

I called some of the tire shops in Moab. According to them, CTs aren't exactly popular there (not sure if that's a political thing or just not many CTs around). New CT tire could take anywhere from next day to a week to get. In other words, spare tire to get home or trip gets extended for as long as an extra week. I voted for extra week, but got overruled by the wife. I guess the hunt is on for a spare tire.

If you haven't done offroading before, I recommend that you go to your local easy offroad trails first just to get yourself familiarize with the Cybertruck's offroad features and capabilities. Just get your feet wet on those easy trails. The stock Pirellis will do just fine but you have to be careful not to go through sharp rocks. Those tires are not meant to do rock crawling. I've offroaded with Pirellis in Bishop, CA., Trona Pinnacles, Glamis and Alabama Hills, it was capable and did very well but then again they are not as durable as a true AT tires. I've been to Moab with a Model Y so I didn't get the chance to hit the trails there.

Once you get a taste of offroading, it's kinda addicting. So I made the decision to change my tires to a Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT before I damage the Pirellis that I can't sell them anymore. The reason I bought the truck is so I can get to places where my Model Y can't take me. It will be pointless for me to have the truck and still not go to these offroad trails because I'm afraid of a tire blow out.

Also remember that, not all Easy rated trails are actually easy. Trail condition can change anytime.
If you're in SoCal, there are many easy trails that you can try.

There's this group called CyberOdysseyUSA where it organizes Cybertruck trail runs in SoCal. Very cool group and you'll learn alot from the group with regards to offroading.

Only a small percentage of CT owners do offroading. I was in Sedona last month and hit some trails there and man, the truck got so much attention from all ages. It's like they were surprised and dumbfounded to see the CT on those trails.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I bought a bunch of stuff based on recommendations on this forum
Not quite Hell's Gate but our first off-road trip is to Moab nevertheless. Just got done with Shafer/Potash Rd. We also did a few trails in Capitol Reef including Moonscape with an amazing viewpoint.

Stock AWD with Pirelli Scorpion ATR all seasons. Aired down to 36PSI, no issues so far. Love the TC-BL compressor with 4-way hose. Spare tire and gluetread kit not needed so far.

We're doing more trails tomorrow if rain doesn't come (82% chance). I'm trying to beat these AS tires up (5K miles) so the wife would let me get some KO3s or similar like the cool kids. But Pirelli ATRs seem to be holding up well.

That's awesome. Following because I'm considering doing this same trip. I said I'd never drive all the way out west again, but with FSD it's on the table again.

Hell's Gate is impressive, but that's not where the off-road fun lies for me. I'm not trying to prove anything (although I always appreciate it when others do). What's important is just to get out there and enjoy the amazing places that most people never get to experience. And you would be hard-pressed to find a more comfortable off-road platform than the Cybertruck. Or one that's as easy for a novice to drive off-road.

Good job!

I was charging at the Moab Hyatt SC late at night next to a blue CT. I thought...on the off-chance @Kneubuehl would shake my hand...so I looked it over for the 3 missing fairings. I saw all 4 missing! No delete kit or anything. I was sure "nature filed his last nail" for him, so I waited until he came back. I ambushed him as he was walking toward his truck. Turned out it was a different guy from Nevada who was renting the CT for the week, with the express off-road prohibition. Sad.

Absolute beginner no more!

I still have lots to learn, but a week in the Moab area has given me a taste of the off-road life. It just so happened to coincide with Easter Jeep Safari week, where loads of Jeeps flock to Moab for their annual event. Jeeps with lift kits, armor, and AT tires were blowing past me the noob in stock AWD CT, no armor, and all season tires. Hopefully we will return the favor one day when CT owners descend on Moab in numbers! I didn't see any other CTs on the trail despite seeing them in town. I saw a few Rivians on the trail though. Some nice Jeep owners approached to talk to me, but the R1Ts got no such love 😘

Have a Happy Easter season everyone. The CT is a damn capable machine. Stay safe and have fun! My family and I certainly did! Back to the grind in a couple of days (sad).

Ahahaha just read this, sorry I didn't see it sooner!

I just got back from an epic Moab weekend hosting 35+ Cybertrucks out on the trails there. I hope to post up an article in the next few days with all the deets
