CT use now "second generation" 4680 cells, but those are still below "battery day" declarations on energy density (so range...) Elon warned the 4680 battery team that the whole department will be fired (as CATL batteries are getting better and charge quicker) as far as we know - this "intensified" work of the team and accoring to roumours / YT comments - mass production of the "third generation" dry cathode shall start in Q3 - and those cells are supposed to have higher capacity. It is not known if this will be 10 or more % of density more.

No idea, lots of fine print. They are 285/65 R20 ATR M+S if that helps. They also say "EXTRA LOAD". :)
After that, is there a number and letter? Something like 123 or 120H?

ON A 123K BATTERY your numbers would be 400 miles and 431 which I can tell you will never happen. I've seen the 280s to 300s wh/mile a bunch of times with short trips like you did but with terrain never saw 300 miles range out of the truck in my 15k miles driven. Go for that long trip to 2% and see what the real numbers are. let us know as you are the first I've seen with the tires and Aero covers. We are All still waiting for our covers. Feb 2024 delivery. Enjoy that thing, it's a beast!
Yeah, 405 and 432 if you are rounding. No, I didn't use 123kwh for the battery size for several reasons. As far as I know, Tesla doesn't quote battery kwh sizes and there's probably good reason for that, but maybe this has changed. I think the 123 number comes from multiplying the number of 4680 cells by the rated capacity per battery but maybe there is more on this. In any case, usable battery capacity is what is important and that's likely less than the theoretical 123. I saw a lab test on the 4680 cells that indicated a tested capacity of 86.5 wh per battery. I see the number of cells quoted as 1344 so that would give an estimate of about 116 kwh of useable capacity. Except, I don't know how Tesla decides to shut down when the battery gets low. So, I used a smaller estimated capacity (115) and simplified the numbers a bit.

I agree that the run down test is the only way to know, but my feeling is that these are just guidelines on how not to run out of charge. So many factors contribute, not the least of which is wind. I have had to change routes and go out of the way to add a charge stop because the wind tanked the original range estimate (which was supposed to include things like traffic, elevation, temperature and wind). I guess they got the forecast wrong. So, I discount it by 10% more and make sure there are options. Of course, you can always slow down if you have to.

I'll do some tests because I am curious just how much more it takes to go 80 as opposed to 75 and 70.

What if you want the Goodyear AT tires instead? Mine has the AT tires and foe me where i live its perfect. Are they giving you a choice? I have a friend who is picking his up next month and he wont accept with the AS tires. Does anyone know?
The only ones they are offering now are the ATs.

That’s funny (not really) because Tesla called me yesterday and said my truck is ready only if I swapped to AT tires. I denied and asked when the AS tires would be available and he said it is unknown at this time. I wish Tesla would release some information on status .
Several of us got that offer. Some changed and got it pronto, others, like me waited it out -- took about 6 weeks more, but I got it. Somewhere in there, they stopped offering the AS as an option. I would hope that if you ordered them, you'll get them.

No worries your friend is stuck with the AT tires if that’s what he selected. The Core/AS wheels and tires no longer appear on the conf page.

So CT comes on Pirelli Scorpions from the factory ? NICE!
It would be great to hear that they upgrade the battery to dry cathode as well (as on the test unit) Tesla mentioned that it may happen before end of the year - this would increase range 10-20 % - which means that with lower speeds close to 500 miles would be possible
Dry cathode is to reduce costs not increase range.

Hopefully someone can compare ride noise and comfort of these tires compared to the AT tires.

There is too much bullshit here for one post.

The 123 kWh battery size does not come from multiplying the number of 4680 cells by the rated capacity per battery, it comes from Tesla's published average range and consumption figures and has been verified by other parties through testing. The actual battery capacity is higher than 123 kWh but that doesn't even matter because it's not available to use. All EV batteries have capacity that is not available to use.

Just took delivery, tactical grey , AS tires. Pirelli Scorpions. Looks good to me!

Now. First take on range. Driving home, consumption was 304 wh/mile! This is around 370 miles on a full charge, mixed city driving, about half freeways. Next trip, streets only, light traffic, 97 degrees, BTW, and 285 wh/mile which works out to about 400 miles range.

I am stunned. Can this possibly hold up? We'll see, but great so far.
