Already have Tesla Solar Panels and router/gateway; with Foundation series am I duplicating anything?

I bought Tesla solar panels + batteries and the smart router/gateway/ battery management device earlier this year. I just got my foundation series invite today. I ordered the AWD version. With my current solar system am I duplicating any of the hardware that I have if i get the foundation series? I wasn't quite sure what connectivity hardware is included with the foundation series to connect to the solar I already have. If so, any chance I can cancel that portion of the foundation series and get a discount??

Not sure if the universal wall connector that comes with the FS is different than the one currently being sold (to support juice going the other way). The gateway you have probably is the latest version / duplicated in the FS package. So possibly you have it all or at most need the updated connector. My equipment is from 2021. I am waiting to see what Tesla’s installer says with regards to those 2 pieces of equipment. Regardless I am not banking on Tesla giving a discount - they need cash for the cyber ramp burn. Most likely case you can get the new hardware and resell privately to recoup some cost. That’s my plan anyhow.

Yes your gateway is duplicated and wall connector. You will be left with all hardware if you already have it like myself. The cable for powering your home is different and comes with kit.

Unlikely. This would likely only happen if there was a lot of people with the same problem, and they needed all the parts they can get their hands on.

I was told on another thread that Tesla doesn't give discounts and leaves us with parts. So likely will need to sell or install at another place is what I'll be doing.
