They likely wouldn't publish numbers if not true.

The glass half full response would be more people are using FSD in more scenarios. More complicated situations are causing more learning opportunities, which means more disengagements.

There are places I drive regularly where early builds of FSD always tried to kill me and the new 14.2 handles things perfectly. Perhaps there are more new places FSD is exploring and it is like these beta scenarios I faced years ago all over again.

Glass half empty is the new speed profiles are causing dangerous driving situations. Either by obstructing traffic going below the speed limit or greatly exceeding the speed limit, both of which happen regularly. Throw a vehicle changing speeds erratically on any road and you will have traffic issues.

Fud or true?

I've read grumbling regarding latest FSD updates here on the forum.

There isn't much motivation to enter data into this tracker unless you had a critical disengagement. Most FSD users (and their combined millions of driving miles) aren't having critical disengagements so they aren't in this tracker. This tracker would only be valuable if every FSD owner entered their data.

Although mostly brilliant, FSD confidently turned down a boat ramp at Breakwater Marina and headed for the ocean. Lately doing weird navigating, missing the correct lane for turns. I see youtubers declaring FSD is essentially perfect, it's really really impressive, but not that yet.

I have more disengagements but all routing. I had the first safety disengagement in maybe 4-6 months just this week in Model Y taking left turn and couldn't rethought it after went out into road. So it just froze in the road. Go or don't go...quit in the middle isn't an option. But routing disengagements have become a few a week.

Unfortunately, I read the article, not informative and the author may be living abroad. No value in it for me, still 99% FSD.

They likely wouldn't publish numbers if not true.
Sure they would... Because the 'News' services don't actually get the numbers THEMSELVES, they rely on 'other sources' (sometimes 'unnamed' or even 'undisclosed'' or from 'former employees' and such) which gives them their 'OUT' just in case...

It's how ABC, CBS and NBC were all able to show the same 'faked' or doctored video that the BBC 'made'... The others just USED it... But they knew it had been doctored because they had crews filming the same thing! So why would they not use their own? Because they WANTED to use a 'not true' one and COULD because all they had to do was to cite the BBC for it and their hands were clean...

So yeah, they WOULD publish whatever they want as long as it's for the narrative, agenda or 'story' that they want to push out to the people... And Yahoo Finance is HUGE on anything ANTI-Tesla or ANTI-Musk...

Their FAVORITE source is Financial Analyst company GLJ Research... Gordon Johnson has LONG SAID that Tesla stock is only worth $19.05!! For YEARS NOW!! Not that he would try and MANIPULATE the stock price by doing so (his number DOES get put into the 'averaging')... Even though most other analysts rate it between $400 to $950 currently...

So yes, they WOULD publish numbers that are not true... they do it all the time!

FSD is really impressive where it is now. If it never got better than what is it now I would be ok with that. I use it about 60% of my miles. That said I trust it like a trust a cat when I am rubbing their stomach. I know its only a matter of time until a disengage is needed. Highways are almost flawless (outside of speed concerns), city's and surface roads are the problem.

Even at the metric the article mentioned 900 miles, that would only be 1 disengage a month for me. That sounds about right for me experience, 1 or 2 disengages a month.
