I have an XM radio dock and have used the 110v charger in the front center console, running the wire out the lid. Works fine but looks sloppy. Has anyone drilled into the front of the center console for a wire to come out? I am concerned that my drill bit will hit something expensive to replace.

The front is very easy to pop off. Start at the top and work your way around. There are a few places where drilling through the plastic should be fine. If you make a round hole and use a rubber grommet it would look nice.

@Pops nailed it. The center console is easy to take apart. You could add a nema 5-15 with USB on the front of the console fairly easily with sometime like this. And with the grommet it would be easy to make it look good. As long as it's powered in line with the existing plug, should be safely operating on the same breaker.

I might do this ?
