Applying Protectaclear

Instructions indicate you can use many solvents - but no 1 is xylene - banned in CA and pretty nasty stuff. Denatured alcohol is on the list but in my experience often has a chemical residue.
What is the solvent of choice?

For pre-coating solvent wipe = 99% isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol.

Removal= xylene is best but acetone works as well. Acetone flashes off quickly so you use more while Xylene flashes off slower and allows more time to “melt” the coating away.

I couldn't find denatured alcohol in Walmart or Home Depot. All I could find was acetone. I didn't look for isopropyl alcohol though, but I will look this weekend.

Going to coat my CT next Monday.

I used acetone to strip the Protectaclear off my truck and it worked fine. I did have to change cloths a few times because they start getting gunked up with the stuff as it breaks down, but it was super easy to remove. A little windex after and you'd never know it was ever on there.
