80k is my Red line. 90k is three times the price of my 1st house (1975). I’m living debt free on a Fixed income. If an invite shows up for 90k I’ll take my $100 deposit and go to McD and get two happy meals for my granddaughters.
P.S. maybe someone out there will start a GoFundMe.

Be Safe Out There !

First and I know there is no consensus on this, given the different experiences and expectations from the people lucky enough to have received their CT, but I think the CT is very fairly priced for all you are getting. I have a few other cars and some much more expensive than the CT and this is my absolute favorite car ever. It is just mind blowing to me how good it is.
Also regarding the FS cost I think that the value of getting the CT sooner is one of the most important benefit of the FS. I am glad that I get to drive this truck everyday and if it cost me a bit more money to enjoy it a year early so be it. It was worth it at least for me.

No “mental” shit here. That’s your problem if you don’t want the accessories. After you subtract all the shit you get for the $20k premium it’s an easier pill to swallow. At the end of the day, I’m driving the CT and you are not. There’s a price to pay for that and to me that price amounts to 4-5k.
No it doesnt. It amounts to 20k minimum. There's no way around that. Whether you wanted those or not

Worth it to you is all that matters at the end of the day. To me a 25% increase is a pretty significant amount. Especially on top of the other increases.

Nope. If you go to a standard shithole dealership and pay a $20k mark up for RainX and pinstripes then I agree with you. This $20k has some value.

I'm not saying it has no value. But it's still 20k either way

I think that Tesla is first trying to price versus the market or similar spec vehicles. The F-150 runs from $40k-$110k. Trucks are a different segment and this pricing strategy is both common and accepted. People used to buying cars may be confused, because it's not like the Corrola has a $70k pricing spread across trims.
It looks like Tesla is going to have its RWD that will be pretty close to a base F-150 price after tax incentives. The Beast is pretty dang close to a Raptor R in price, especially since most of these are marked up by dealers. It's not like Tesla is wildly off the mark with pricing.
Where Tesla presumably comes out ahead is they should have a price lever to pull in the future to undercut F-150 if the sales stall. But it doesn't look great for a brand new product that is supposed to be revolutionary trying to compete on price out the gate, Tesla rightfully wants to see if they can get the same amount of money Ford gets for a F-150. If the CT is worth less than a F-150 to the general buying public, that's not a great start.

You have to understand this truck has amazing technology and a leading edge Look !
And you really can’t compare it to other trucks. I understand EVERYTHING went through the ROOF in the passed 3 years !!!
I’m currently driving a 10 year old GMC with 45k miles on it, it’s like brand new. I basically use it for Fire calls and personal trips pulling my trailer.
It’s the matter of affordability. At 60k I jumped in four years ago than it jumped to 80k now I’m hearing 90k, for a two motor 4WD plus at that price you lose the PJ $7500 rebate. At 73 this would be my last truck till 93, check out time. I just can’t Jump in without a Life Vest on !!
So very disappointing. I have been buying more lottery ticket but No Luck with that too. So unfortunately for me 90k is WAY Over my Budget !!

This poll cracks me up. Why would anyone, other than buyers who seriously exceeded their financial means buying the FS want the FS to continue?

If you are wealthy and own a lot of Tesla stock you should want a fast ramp up that lowers cost per unit so the CT is affordable to more people. That is how you grow market share that drives long term profitability.

If you are not wealthy any 100K vehicle is a terrible use of your hard earned $. If 100K sounds good to you you are wealthy by definition of 90% of the population.

If CT prices stay where they are or go up from here the early FUD that the CT would have trouble exceeding sales of the S and X will come true. That may sound great to those searching for exclusivity. It would be bad news for Tesla and the buying public.
Exactly! The mission of Tesla is to rapidly bring he world sustainable energy and transport. I'm tired of seeing so many people wanting the prices to stay inflated for the sake of chasing stock prices. That's not healthy for a company in the long run.

Exactly, 1000 creepy dealership undercoatings and crap car alarms later… Initial releases of rare cars are always bid up. I felt guilty that my wealth let me skip the line… but as a longterm shareholder through good times and rough ones I am grateful that the company leadership values that. I hope that those that truly want this can get one before they are on every street in the world as they soon will be. The guys I feel bad for are the big 3 autoworkers who make ALL their money on trucks. If in the next couple years Tesla takes 10 to 20% of their market… and they don’t answer with better products, they are done.

for everyone hating on the pricing (I also reserved a $50k dual motor in 2019) vote out your elected officials from the House and Senate. Both parties were complicit in the COVID giveaways, runaway Federal spending and stupidly not issuing long term govt bonds when interest rates were low. As an expected result, we have been ransacked with years of persistent inflation and high interest rates. This is Econ 101, we need to dump the two party system of crooks, criminals, and power grabbers and give America ( and your tax dollars) back to hard working Americans through smaller Federal government which spends a lot less money.

I think it will end soon when FS demand finally shows any signs of dropping but at best a very base version will go down to $79,990 or so minimum. BUT, they will fleece then as much as possible. The AT wheel/tires will be extra, FS extra, PowerShare hardware and software capability likely extra. Not sure what else they could remove/make optional - perhaps in the future no automated tonneau cover, etc. on a very base version.

Immediately after the FS versions end, there won't be too much actual price difference though I'd say when you add everything up.
