Keep in mind that if you've held the shares for less than a year the appreciation may be taxed at regular tax rates instead of capital gains rate.

Last night THE email came! WTF? I'm getting invited to purchase a Foundation Series Cybertruck?

Pretty sure going to all out and get the CyberBeast.

So, I'm now wondering if I should liquidate my entire Tesla portfolio to pay for it?

Obvi, the shares are the long term right call. But living in the here and now has never been anything I've done. Considering it vs. any sort of monthly payments.

What are opinions on this? Thanks Club!

Rent it out for $1000 per day. After about 80 rental days you should be good. Put gps tracker on it tell the renters no off-roading or crazy stuff or you will shut vehicle off. There almost paid for in 80 days

I'm confident I can earn more than 5% on my stock investments.
Buy low, hold long, the Warren Buffet way.

I joined USSFCU and got loan approval within 2 weeks 9/2023. I put proceeds from selling my ICEmobile into $TSLA and took out a 4.25% loan.
Actually Berkshire Hathaway got into BYD early and refused to buy Tesla. They have now sold 60% of their BYD stock at a huge profit.

Even Elon will tell investors not to buy tesla stock on margin because of its large swings in price. If it falls 50%, which it has done numerous times, and you are invested on margin- you might get a margin call and have to come up woth more cash.

Keep your stock. Save and get the one you want in 18 months financing the balance. You'll regret selling it. I sold a whole bunch of Apple stock at $27/share. Needless to say I'd be filthy rich right now if I had just held it.
When Tesla originally went public I was on the fence over whether to put 5k into their stock. I ended up using the money to pay for an engagement ring and then for my wedding. Well...I am in the process of getting a divorce currently

I will not sell any share to buy CT. I have already got loan pre approval from my credit union at 5.49% for 60 months

To me it makes sense both financially and poetically to sell TSLA shares to pay cash for CT. So at 252, I sold 600 shares to cover my CT plus tax liability.

You must have many hundreds more or just sitting pretty for retirement to give away those precious stocks.
