I feel like the cybertruck should have automatic door open even if it's just opening the door. Pulling it closed can still be manual.
Just have the door open when you approach the car.
there may be some safety concerns with that.
what do you guys and gals think? posible upgrade?

I think it’s a missing feature. Especially here in Texas where pressing the hot unlock spot can actually hurt your thumb in the summer. Cant imagine it in Arizona.

Yeah I would think it can be a software and app update like the option now to auto open the frunk. I posted about it on X

I was thinking the same thing, be nice if the door opened when I got close to it. Kind of like the frunk does when you stand in front of it.

The X has the auto-open feature, maybe it is something that could be pushed to the trucks in a software update?

From the X manual:

"Model X doors are electrically powered. When you approach Model X carrying a key, the doors automatically unlock. The front doors open when you press the door handle.

You can also set the driver's door to open automatically upon your approach and close automatically upon your departure . The door partially opens between 20° and 45° (halfway open) depending on obstacles detected."

Not going to happen automatically like the X because it cannot auto close. There could be an addition to the app to pop the door open like the 3/Y. Wes already stated this in the past.

Would love to see that in an update or at a minimum, open door from the Controls section of the app.

It's basically a single motion activity for me, pressing the button and pulling the door open.

I'm assuming that you are actually asking to automatically push the button, not open the door wide.

Opening the door wide, like the X, is a very different thing.

I think pushing the button and then pulling the door open is two motions, not one, and I feel sure OP means having the door pop open a bit when you approach, as opposed to opening it like the X.

Kind of like my MS presents the handles when I get near. Very handy.

Fingers go in, push the button and then just curl to grab the door on their way back.

Like the Model 3 / Model Y door handle, thumb approaches push handle open and fingers hook and arm retracts.

So much easier than reaching in pocket, finding key fob, pulling it out, rotating to fingers in the right spot. push the button, shoving back in pocket and then reaching to pull on the handle.

After opening Model 3 and Model Y doors for years, it's truly a single motion for me.

I was so wishing the CT had this just like my wife's MX. It is so handy you walk up to the car with bags in your hand, the door opens automatically, you can then sit inside and hit the brake and then the door auto-closes.
