Is my train of thought wrong here? Just doing the rough math and adding in the $7500 tax credit (which did not exist in 2019) to the then-$40,000 price to make it an apples-to-apples comparison, the base Cybertruck would be $47,500:
Price Today $61,000
- Tax Cred $7500
Actual Price $53,500
- 2019 Actual $47,500
Difference $6000
So if inflation from 2019 through 2023 was 20% (see cumulative inflation calculator below) then $47,500 + 20% = $57,000 vs today's actual price of just $53,500, making it $3,500 cheaper than in 2019:
