My preorder was from Feb 2020, so not super early. Every dollar helps, so the referral was nice. I sold off my Nissan LEAF, which I don't drive much anymore, and traded in an old 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan that we only use for taking things to the dump. I bought a Model Y for my wife last year, so we've completely made the jump to Tesla now.

Oh, I've got a long list of things that I need to get done. Hopefully I'll be hauling drywall and plywood by the end of the week. I check my phone about 2 times per hour to see if it is time to schedule my delivery date.

Amazing! That's the same VIN that they assigned to me! Hopefully we'll find a way to split ownership rights. Dibs on the second Saturday of each month.

All kidding aside, how long did it take for the app to let you choose a date after your VIN was assigned?

Once your VIN is assigned and you completed the registration part it was same day for me I believe.

@Gritted Cybe Interesting. I have all the steps completed except choosing a delivery date, final payment, and reviewing the final agreement. It was a flurry of activity and messages over the first 24 hours and then it went dark. When I ordered my Model Y they had one on the lot, so I'm sure that spoiled my expectations.

In 2018 I bought my wife a Model 3, figuring we could both use it. But she liked it so much she would rarely let me drive it. Fast-forward three months and I had to order my own Model 3 Performance. So I know the feeling!
