I have a 2021 AWD Mustang Mach E with extended battery and I love how it drives. The build quality is excellent and the drive is great (Better than my ICE vehicle for sure).

I heard some bad reviews for MY and MS overall built and drive (not acceleration but regular drive and sounds coming out of them) on some YouTube channels. I have not driven a Tesla myself so I cannot actually compare them but since I have booked my CT, I am a bit concern on how its build quality will be.

Just throwing out there as a future CT owner (of course 3 years from now)

P.S. - Here is the YouTube I was referring to

We’ve had no issues on our 2019 Model 3. There are well-known issues with every manufactured ‘thing’ ever made, including automobiles. Hence the Lemon law. I would pay more attention to someone like Sandy Munro than to whatever sources you are using.

I've heard the Mach E had issues with the roof falling off.

Has your's?

What you hear about is always the bad stuff and the exceptions, not the normal and correct. My Model Y is fine. Also, both the Model Y and Model 3 drive exceptionally well. The drive quality is one of the things people love about them.

Well thanks for emphasizing on the point which I guess definitely started with Tesla’s. No roof falling for me fortunately and hope yours did not fall off too.. although battery range is definitely something to crib about during winters.

Thanks for your input. I believe natural progression of build quality will make these cars/trucks even better

Here is the YouTube video I watched. I know it’s too long but they do a fair comparison in my option with all goods and bads for each of them.

If you go to the Tesla website you can schedule a test drive at a showroom. They give you the car for an hour with no salesperson, just you and the car to do what you wish.

That should provide you with direct insight to the vehicle, and you don't get a sales-person trying to sell it to you. You're free to walk away and form your own opinion. No youtuber input, no bias. It's kind of cool. You can examine every physical aspect you're concerned with without someone trying to explain it away or hype it up.

Tried getting a test drive after seeing your message but I guess they do not have an appointment available (Too much demand they say) and I live like nowhere (Great state of Ohio). Will definitely try test driving one for sure. Thanks.

FORD produce some exceptionally well handling vehicles. Its not unheard of… but quality is ephemeral. I was disappointed when I bought and the vehicle was not even close to what I had driven(rental).

Cybertruck is a different case than quality. Tesla are presenting a truck on a car skate platform. @Ogre points to handling of the car skate as exceptional — loved! Tesla are scaling that goodness into Cybertruck.

I’m optimistic that goodness scales. That’s testable before a “bet the company” vehicle launch. So the question becomes will customers choose a truck skate over body-on-frame? IF my Tahoe is representational, its a low-low bar for Cybertruck’s skate. My unibody ‘97 4Runner was much better offroad than the Body-on-frame Tahoe. Tahoe was more comfortable.

Antidotal evidence notwithstanding, Cybertruck can exceed the 80/20 cliché. Based on my experience, CT is a low risk bet on the skate. That low center of gravity, concentrated center of effort and stiff exo/casting skate combo should be a huge change. Change for the better, excepting articulation which admittedly I shall mourn.

With YouTube you have to remember that saying anything about Tesla, good or bad, can produce lots of clicks. So there’s just a lot of junk out there. Good junk and bad junk. It’s hard to find anything unbiased on YouTube when it comes to Tesla.

Bought my first Tesla a year and a half ago. A Model Y. Is the build quality perfect? Nope. But it’s as good or better than the previous 2 new cars I bought, a 2013 Ford Flex and a 2017 Toyota Highlander.

I recently saw a video of an auto detailer checking out a new Rivian R1T’s fit and finish. It has the typical Tesla type issues. But he noted that almost ANY new car has those sorts of things if you’re looking.

Anyway, I have zero concerns for my CT. But I’m not expecting perfection either.

Hmm, how far is the OHV park from our local Tesla dealership….

Second!

Don’t expect nor do I want “ car quality” in a truck, period.

Best truck I owned, ran it into the ground at 172k. Wiring harness couldn’t deal with ocean air and was failing - everywhere. I hated that truck’s body gaps everywhere. I could stick a pencil between any gap. Some as large as your thumb showed bolt heads.

Gaps were so obvious that it looked like farm equipment dealer built. It’s gaps were signature - Range Rover Hunter edition. It was a farm truck gussied up for royalty hunting trips. Perfect.

Gimme gaps and the perfect truck to go hunting anyday. Let them drive cars who want them “ no gaps”. Rivian et.al. are standing by for that business.

The CT will have inevitable "growing pains", that it's a guarantee. But the capabilities and construction, even if they miss their intended potency, will make this thing revolutionary. The way it's constructed, alone, will embarrass every other auto maker. We don't talk about it much, but the front and rear casting combined with the modified exoskeleton is going to be a paradigm shift.

Even GM's Silverado EV, that they claim to be designed from the ground up to be an EV, will still muse old construction methods. The CT will be at least 1 ton lighter than anything else, even the smaller Rivian.

I'm not worried about build quality. And even if they make some dumb error, I'll sell it and get the next gen with fixes.

My model Y feel as solid as a tank compared to my f350, every other car feels rickety now. The only issue I has was that my driver door was misaligned, but it was fixed for free and quickly and now it's perfect and silent

If you're really worried about initial build quality just defer delivery until the first few thousand are out.
