I'm likely going a different direction as the cybertruck is more of a beta version luxury SUV than a work truck. Needs more refinement. I have high hopes for the Cybertruck 2.0 in 2045.

In the meantime I'm going to get a Diesel 3/4 ton, and look to replace my car with a Model 2 or a model Y Juniper when the prices are good.
Plot twist! Didn't see that comin' since your choices seem so pedestrian compared to the idea of owning a CT.

Hi there,

Have your circumstances in life or priorities changed? Were you let down by the value garnered from your transactions regarding pre-order? Did you feel a sinking feeling in your stomach after everything was paid for? I'm very interested in hearing from you... PM's welcome.

I did, maybe you can show me what you're looking at.
- Tesla 2019 cybertruck event shows trimotor at 14,000lbs
- Telsa.com 2024 says 11,000lbs on the $99k Cyberbeast
- Ford 23-24 f150 with max tow package is 14,000lbs
It's interesting to see how we use spec numbers on paper to see which car is strong and powerful. At the delivery event, Tesla showcased how CT beat other trucks while towing 40,000 lbs sled. The towing and payload numbers are general guidelines for safety/warranty/liability. The spec numbers are based on several other factors - safety load testing, skid plate testing, suspension strength, over/under steer values, axle load, and several other factors. Higher the number doesn't mean the tow vehicle engine is powerful.

In fact, instant torque in EVs give them an upper hand to tow really heavy stuff for short duration, and IMO this is the reason CT outperformed all other trucks, including Ford 350, in 40,000 lbs sled truck pull.

Fun fact - Porsche has Guinness world record for towing Boeing airplane (287,000 lbs), but on spec, it says max 8000 lbs towing and 500 lbs tongue weight. These numbers are there for safety and liability reasons, and obviously we should stay within those limits, but it's not logical to rate the vehicle engine/motor power based on these numbers.

The only thing I am worried about is trying to leave a parking lot. Already making a list of excuses to get in my truck and go. " Sorry, I am running late and need to pick my kid up from practice." "My wife got a flat tire and I need to help her."
this is my main concern. I believe this truck will be attention grabbing for a long, long time- I ain't got time for that.

Waiting on my Cyberbeast, but I was thinking about this the other day, and I'm so happy I listened to my gut about skipping the AWD early vs getting the Beast later.

The side of me that has been itching to get my hands on what I ordered 4 years ago almost went for the AWD, but man... I know for a fact I'd have been dying of buyer's remorse if I had. I knew I wanted the Tri-Motor from day one, it's what I ordered, but seeing January as a potential date for the AWD ALMOST got me, whereas the Beast was suggesting summer-fall, and thus more agonizing waiting while everyone else got to have fun.

Now that I'm seeing all the AWD coverage, and trust me I think the AWD is plenty awesome, I also see all the benefits that I am getting out of the Beast on top of just the base stats (i.e. Powershare credit, approved already). I'm getting exactly what I wanted. I know I'd have been kicking myself so hard in the butt if I went the AWD route when the Cyberbeasts started actually rolling out.

So, as it stands, no, I don't think I'll have remorse, both are crazy expensive so we've all got to swallow that reality in time. Any second thoughts or a dislike of the vehicle (I expect to love it) will be appeased by the comfort of knowing for at least a couple years resale value will no doubt exceed purchase value simply due to supply/demand.

The Cyberbeast will be the perfect vehicle for me for all year driving, it's exactly what I've been waiting for.

It is a truck for the majority of case uses. It lacks in two areas. It sucks at towing long distances like every EV. The bed is not ideal for people who need larger bed tool boxes. For the vast majority of local contractors, construction, and landscapers, this is a truck and SUV's wouldn't work for them. It may not meet your demands, but your needs are not the same as all truck drivers.
Any vehicle sucks at towing long distances. Physics.

It is just more convenient with ICE trucks now with huge gas tanks. The infrastructure is also more convenient with pull through refills without unhooking trailers. We have awhile to go before EV's can compete and that may take a decade.

I have had my Cybertruck now for two weeks. I had some apprehensions about it mostly fueled by YouTubers. But now that I own the truck I am very pleased. The fingerprints as long as you attend to them within a day or two come right off with Windex. It drives like a dream. My consumption is decent at 349 wh/mile. That’s combo around town and hwy driving.
The Cybertruck replaces a Dodge diesel that was used for work and camping. Just look up diesel PM10 and PM25 to learn how dangerous these particulates are for people’s health and especially those driving the diesel. It’s disgusting what you will learn. I had gotten to the point that in the Dodge, if I approached a baby being pushed in a stroller, I’d pull over, shut down the engine and wait for them to walk by. You see, in 2015, my wife died of a leukemia linked to fossil fuel PM10 and 25 due to living near a lot of petroleum pollution as a child. She wasn’t alone, it affected other kids she grew up with.
Back to the Cybertruck, my vin is 009xx. It is flawless. I have owned 4 Teslas since 2012. The build quality got better and better with each. This one is flawless. I can not find a single defect. The only thing I’d like to improve is people to stop honking, waving, and following all over town.

My situation changed. Some idiots started writing checks that werent backed by hard assets and devalued our currency. I experienced a few years of hyperinflation that eroded my current buying power by over 20%.
I was busy building this
Tesla Cybertruck Buyer's Remorse? 1707405410143

And my real purchasing power while I was building dropped to 1/4 what it was before. I ended up going over budget and spending all my savings and being forced to borrow more than the cost of a cybertruck to finish my house. I still want a CT, but I’m tightening my belt till everything is paid off.

Yes, it has changed somewhat! My priorities right now is to decide which one of my Teslas will go in as a trade-in for my CyberTruck, '22 Model S ( perfection is the way to describe it), '23 Model X ( another Tesla perfection and a workhorse ) so since it will be hard to part with either one them I'm guessing my CyberTruck will be kept in my driveway.

BTW, in case you are looking for a hit piece to report you may just be in the wrong forum since I'm not alone who's been waiting, hoping to get a #VIN assigned and have no qualms with paying for it gladly whatever the amount Tesla will charge.

Ta for now!

Congratulations on your new truck and sorry hear about your wife.
349 watts per mile combined is incredible.
I think I’d get similar results as I try to drive efficiently as possible, and hypermill a ton.
I usually get much better than rated in my Model 3
Ordered 1/17 and awaiting a VIN.
looking forward to it.

As of this morning, I added about 50 miles hwy at about 65 mph. I'm just headed out of town for 4 days in my Y, I'm late already! I am at 357 wh/mile with these extra miles. I'll try to post a pic on wednesday when I return. Also, just raised the PSI to the proper 50 psi, was 45 psi. Also, I do not have the Aero wheel covers so maybe they will help a bit?

I'm sorry to hear about your wife. I have seen first hand on what happens to kids when they grow up in air polluted environment. A close friend of mine has so many breathing issues because there was so much smoke and air pollution in the city he grew up in. Whenever someone talks about how EVs are still not that green and clean, I tell them to go live in a city filled with air pollution, they'll know what it feels like to breathe clean air.

It's great to see you are getting 349 wh/mi. That's 350 miles!! This is the first time I'm hearing a real owner share good promising numbers for CT range. It gives me hope that it's not as bad as they say in YouTube. This is why I have stopped believing in some of the Youtube content for CT. Somehow they feel that they have to say controversial things about CT to get more clicks! So not fair for CT.
