Interior cabin camera works during sentry mode. However when trying to activate FSD latest version I get the error “cabin camera unavailable”. I’ve had this once before but it just went away on its own.

Wondering if anyone else has had it.

Just got this today. Nothing in the preview in car. Tried restarting screen but still no camera preview.
Without the cabin camera FSD is not available. Earliest appt. Is Friday in Santa Monica and I’m in the valley. They were offering 2nd week in February at a closer service center. Wtf.

It fixed itself after 24 hours. Then camera stopped again. Then came back. A week later the right camera went out. No visualizations at all on screen. Did a screen reboot. Now works. Taking it for service on Tuesday.

An update. It kept happening. SC checked it out and faulty infrared sensor and they’re replacing it. It will occasionally happen and then not happen. Could be a sign the infrared sensor is starting to fail.

Taking mine in for service just to be safe as my cameras actually go out.

Yes, I get the “Cabin Camera Unavailable” probably 40% of the time I use FSD. It alerts me the moment I press on the brake. It seems to be an intermittent fault. I hoped it would go away with the latest software update but it did not. I have a service appointment on Feb 4th.
I’ve talked to two friends here that have cybertruck and both said they have never experienced that issue. I’ve only had it for 3 weeks so I am hoping it’ll be covered under the warranty.

The tech diagnosed it as an overheating camera. Dropped off yesterday.

Strange. I keep my truck parked outside and most mornings it is 17 deg F outside. I have the preconditioning set for the morning to 72 deg F interior. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Yeah he said it didn’t make sense since one of the times it happened was at night and cold. Just that the log was showing overheat so maybe due to something else.
Picking up tomorrow

Awesome! I hope that’s the fix. Did you get a loaner vehicle? I assume it was fixed under warranty?

Mine said the same but I doubt it to be honest. They “fixed” it but it already came back again. Rip.

This just happened to me today.

Did you guys ever get it permanently fixed? Did it "fix" itself?

I ended up taking in to service. They got it taken care of in about an hour. It was a bad optical sensor. Covered under warranty.

Thank you for sharing.

I went in yesterrday for camera issues, which hasn’t been too much of a bother giving I love driving this truck, however a few times when cameras didn’t work would have been nice to have FSD operating. Anyway, on-off issue and just took delivery on 5/1, for a 4/2025 manufacture date (AWD Dual Motor)

Went to Tesla service yesterday for that, and a wiper issue.

Tesla says they have to replace my front windshield in about two weeks certainly didn’t see that coming. Tech comments are as follows for my appointment in two weeks: “The technician on the prior visit recommended front windshield replacement after an engineering study bulletin was performed.”
