I've been reading this forum today and have come to some questions! My situation is a 2022 reservation; and I haven't heard anything yet from Tesla.

1.) If I get an offer to configure, but don't like the options (like Foundation Series) can I just ignore it and keep my spot in line? Do you get to go back to the app at will and see if there are more configure options each month or so?

2.) Are some of the CTs coming without the ability for FSD? Will this ability be added to them via software upgrades down the road? (This is a big selling feature for me)

3.) Do the CTs not qualify for tax credits?

4.) Are range extender kits currently available?

5.) Is there a place for the spare or does it have to be in the bed?

6.) I'm gathering the MSRP of the FS-CT is ~$120K?

1. Theoretically, yes. They may pull configuration ability when Foundation window is closed.
2. Software version for CT theoretically later this month (12.5), all Foundation series come with the FSD option.
3. Only non-Foundation AWD (and RWD) are below the MSRP limit, but cell components may invalidate the vehicle for the Clean Vehicle Credit.
Commercial Clean Vehicle credit has no such restrictions.

2. Right now no Cybertruck has functional FSD, but at some point in the future a software update will come out to allow CT to have FSD. The CTs come with the hardware needed to achieve FSD but to activate costs extra.

Currently the costs of FSD are either one time $8k or a monthly subscription of $100. Both of these prices and terms are subject to change at any moment if Tesla decides to. Tesla seems to claim once they perfect FSD they will raise the price as a way to entice people to buy it now at what they allege is a lower price.

Right now Foundation series trucks come with FSD paid for in full just not operational yet.

3. Commercial Vehicle EV Credit does not appear to have any limits in terms of msrp or income. So if a business entity purchases a CT at any msrp it can qualify for the $7500 rebate and 179 deduction and bonus depreciation.

7. Main selling points of Foundation are: the now factor, FSD ($8k), upgraded tire/wheel package ($3k?), $2500 credit, bunch of little things floor mats, roof sunscreen, d rings, bottle opener etc ($1k). Beast has a few additions: lightbar ($2k?) and $4k powershare install credit.

The Foundation AWD comes with about $15k in upgrades and your paying $20k for foundation, so my guess is there is about a $5k markup for a Foundation vs a non-foundation with the exact same options.

8. It appear the OEM goodyear offroad tires that come with the CT can only be purchased from Tesla directly at the moment. But you could install other brand tires and wheels. I think the limiting factor currently is weight and speed ratings but I am sure other manufacturers will create tires that meet or exceed OEM spec tires .

2.) That an interesting play on the FSD being included... Lots of unknowns there. Too bad it's not operational yet! Have they hinted at a timeline? Is this why @mongo mentioned the software update towards the end of this month potentially being the one to bring in FSD?

This feature is likely highest on the list for me.

Thanks for this! Is it confirmed the FSD comes with FS.. as in, when it is ready for the CT, it will be activated?
Knowing that price will go up, for FSd the closer they get to solving it, it makes the FS something I never thought I considered (or thought would get to my number - though it still might not)

FSD is one of the main selling points for me buying this vehicle. If for some reason it got majorly delayed or some how obsoleted (like the V1 Rivians....).... I'd be pretty irate. Thanks again for the information.

1) If you get an offer for a Foundation Series and don't want it, ignore it.
2) Cybertrucks don't come with FSD. FSD is an option included in the Foundation Series.

It is confirmed all foundation series trucks come with FSD fully paid for. Musk has said that CT will get FSD with software update 12.5, currently I believe that FSD is on software 12.3 and version 12.4 which is about a month late from when it was suppose to be ready just started rolling out to employees I think yesterday.

Musk is notoriously over optimistic regarding timelines, not because of ill will but because he underestimates the human factor of teams working together and delays etc. He originally stated that 12.5 was going to be ready for roll out at end of June. This could still happen but most likely we are looking at end of July or in August sometime.

This 12.5 update is supposed to be a real leap forward so if CT gets activated for FSD with that update it will be huge.

I dream of the day I can send my truck driverless out to pickup my kids from soccer and all the afterschool stuff, drop them off at home and then come back to my office. Musks goal is for all Teslas to become some sort of robotaxi that puts uber and lyft out of business overnight because we have all these Teslas driving around picking up and dropping people off when we are at work or are alseep. If this ever happens then all Teslas sort of become a potential revenue stream for their owners. It will be a totally different world if they can pull this off, it’s not a matter of if but when at this point. I am confident we see this level of self driving by 2030, how much sooner I am not certain.

Elon suggested FSD v12.5, most of the other Teslas are on 12.36, hoping for 12.4 within a week or so....it's really a guess when 12.5 will be released....Elon hinted at July, but even if delayed it will be soon Aug/Sep....too many CT buyers will lose their minds if this is "majorly delayed" Tesla will get it done, probably late but they have a lot riding on FSD for the CT
