Many owners report that their “new horn” (the one that uses the PWS) is not loud enough.

Does anyone know if it could be amplified?

Is the PWS speaker just a regular speaker that’s in a weather proof box or is it something more intricate?

interesting idea. And replace the speaker with a more powerful model. That *might* wake up the dummies. 100 watt horn!
or this...

edit, that is the installation kit only, the horn is 1100+.

Those are fun but I’m just looking to crank up the PWS. Does anyone know if it’s just a regular speaker or is it something more?

I think it is just a regular speaker but no idea on the specs, voltage, impedance, total RMS.
just asked my buddy google...

No, the horn speaker in a Tesla Cybertruck is not powered by 12 volts; it operates on a 48-volt system, which is the primary low voltage power source for the vehicle's electronics, including the horn
so, I don't think they make a 48volt amp. Bummer.

The AI would not know as well as anyone here guessing without checking.

It doesn't know things we haven't posted, and can't tell fact from fiction.

I think there is more to it than a speaker. During a Thanksgiving road trip, I hit a coyote with the right front wheel. It broke off the fairing, damaged the wheel liner and I think damaged the speaker. It seems that since that hit, the volume of my PWS has been soft. I wasn't sure if there was a software setting or bug but I noticed that I can no longer hear my walk away lock sound in a normal parking lot - only in garages or places where its quiet.

It's strange though. Testing where its quiet, I can hear all the sounds, boombox, media etc. Everything sounds normal, just the volume is low. When the new Horn sound came out, I upgraded, and that sound plays loudly which makes me question if there is damage or not. When I picked up my fender / liner parts from Tesla, they took a listen and said it sounded off so they have ordered a replacement for me. I'll report back if that fixes the volume issue.

FYI, here's a picture of it that I took when I replaced the fender liner.

Thank you for that photo, is that located inside the bumper or the fender area behind the wheel? I'm interested in taking a look at mine when I get it back from the shop this weekend.

That is inside the wheel well. You don't even need to remove the wheel. You can remove the liner with the clips and a couple of bolts underneath and get easy access to the speaker.

The horn is a different speaker than the PWS/Boombox. There are two speakers.

Thanks for this. When I was underneath, I found this "horn" which looks a little different (more rounded than what Wes posted and I only saw the 1 - but I didn't look up in there to see if there is another horn).

I ordered one of these today, were going to find out! From what I can tell, the PWS and Superhorn which is just a larger version of the PWS speaker are just regular speakers that are weather resistant. I'll take mine out this weekend to find out more. If anyone has any good links or videos of someone who has removed one, please share.

Initial testing of the little mini amp i bought from Amazon works. I did test a functional test on the bench to ensure it works. Now to double check the writing for the Superhorn speaker which should be the same as the PWS. Anyone got a link to a wiring diagram for it?
