Imagine this train loaded with Cybertrucks! It will happen.....someday ?

Hadn't even thought of this in the US since I see so many Teslas going north on I5 here. But the Texas/ Portland route is further and a lot longer than the California/ Portland route, maybe shipping by train makes sense. It's certainly more efficient.

Though Tesla Semis loaded with Cybertruck's might give rail a run for it's money. More labor intense though (until they perfect autonomous semis).

They have been shipping Tesla's by rail for at least a year(probably more). There was a fire in one of the rail cars(autoracks) carrying Tesla's from July last year.

What's interesting about the tweet with the rail cars loaded w/autos is the rail cars are open. Here in the U.S. and Canada all autoracks are completely covered and have been for about the last 40 years due to vandalism(rocks thrown breaking windshields) and theft(batteries, spare tires).

Though Tesla Semis loaded with Cybertruck's might give rail a run for it's money.
I doubt that, but would like to see a breakdown from Tesla Semi vs Rail. Rail vs truck(diesel): On average, railroads are three to four times more fuel efficient than trucks. That means moving freight by rail instead of truck lowers greenhouse gas emissions by up to 75%, on average.

Not surprised that they are delivering Tesla's to the East Coast by rail, likely a lot less expensive and a lot less environmental impact. I just hadn't thought about it previously since I see so many moving by truck. Shipping 600 miles versus shipping 2000+ miles makes a big difference.

Well, that settles the argument of whether or not the Cybertruck needs to go in the garage. Guess it's gonna be an "outside dog". I will install the charger port on the outside of the garage and be good with it.

That suit... Musk looks so out of place in that outfit.

Guess you have not seen the video of the guy that lost his house due to a Chevy having a "Melt Down" and it was not on charge either just like this Model 3. I like the vehicle but I am not going to turn my back on it. I rent out an apartment above my garage to a tenant and it could be a lethal mix.

You are overestimating the risk. Maybe a little more research on the topic?

The Las Vegas Fire Department received a report of an explosion and fire in a rail car late Monday night in downtown Las Vegas along North Main Street according to this morning's Las Vegas Review-Journal. A fire department video showed fire fighters spraying water into a burning Union Pacific auto rack. It was in a long train of auto racks. The auto rack appeared to be heavily damaged after the fire was extinguished.

I wonder if the autorack contained any aluminum body vehicles?
The alloy material (magnesium) makes them quite flammable.
I remember seeing an autorack fire photo in which every vehicle
in the rack was aluminum bodied and all that was left was the
steel and cast iron components of the vehicles. If the car is
in motion when the fire starts, the air passing through the
cars make them like a forge.

Lawsuit filed in car carrier ship fire at Blount Island
On June 4, a fire started aboard the 15-floor cargo ship. About 2,400 junked cars had been loaded for transport to West Africa. The ship, loaded with fuel and cars, was ready to get underway. The lawsuit alleges the ship’s crew turned off the vessel’s fire alarm system, allowing a fire to spread unabated in the cargo decks.
