He's just worried that if everyone goes 'EV' then HE will be out of a job!! After all, who needs a mechanic for a car that doesn't need any maintenance? That nobody steals the catalytic converter from? That nobody needs much of ANYTHING other than getting their tires rotated and a new cabin air filter every 2 years?

Yes, more and more 'mechanics' are making videos saying EVs are no good... Get hybrids, get ICEs... You know, things that break down more and that THEY can fix!

I'll be driving along at any point in the day and I'll just come on randomly It doesn't seem like it's connected to the cruise control.
Any time you enable TACC, the wipers are switched to "AUTO" and remain there.

Not on my truck. The wiper will just randomly go to the down position, then I hit the wiper button to check and it is set to off.

This guy is all over the place. At 44 min he states the bed is not usable and then doesn't give any reasons why.
Wow! The bed is more useable than the 6.5' bed in my F-150 with those two obnoxious wheel wells messing up my loading patterns and the slick-as-snot painted steel bed in the rain.

Why did Ford make a truck bed you can't walk on when it's on a slope in the rain? You would think after 100 years of experience they would know that, without forcing those who just forked out big money for a new truck to have to open their wallet again to get the bed sprayed with a spray-in "liner". Shouldn't it come ready to use?

The video was great and then turned sour. It actually pissed me off when he started saying that you can't use it as a real truck. I'm a RAM 1500 owner, and I immediately put my new Cybertruck to use hauling stuff and doing other "truck things". No problems, and in fact it has many more tie-down points than my Ram. Same sized bed, and same bed spray finish. And I got the cargo divider, which is a game changer for smaller loads. Plus, the tonneau cover (which he annoyingly kept mispronouncing) is not only great in itself, but the unique shape means you can cover loads taller than the bed. Which I have done!

I've been assured by many people for many years that EV trucks cannot do work. That's why I did not do this today.

Two cool advantages of the Rivian... The Gear Guard cable and the gear tunnel. The cable is an auto-locking/auto-unlocking stainless security cable at the back of the bed. It's protecting the two ladders in the bed. My tool bags and the equipment are inside the gear tunnel, out of sight, very hard to break into. No glass or easy prying locations. The tunnel doors are suitable to stand and sit on, so I'll pull the truck to the side of the building and just use the door as the work platform, probably. The building isn't tall.

BTW, yes. The answer is yes, that is Hello Kitty duct tape.

And keeping it Tesla, the project was installing some Starlinks.

Because you fail to realize the true definition of truck things!

Truck Things: Tough and rugged activities one might do with a pickup truck, including but not limited to hauling, plowing, towing and off-roading… Unless the Cybertruck can do that thing equally as well. Then it doesn’t count and is not considered a truck thing anymore.

Tough and rugged - find me a truck that’s more dent resistant than Cybertruck. People have been shooting bullets at that thing to show how tough the body is!

Hauling - find me a truck that has more payload than Cybertruck in its class. With AT tires, it’s freaking 2500 lbs payload in a 6’ bed that can fit in a garage with only 19.4’ floor length. Please find me even any ICE truck that fits into these dimensions.

Plowing - didn’t you watch the sledge test where Cybertruck beat all other trucks? Do you need more torque than a freaking Trimotor? lol

Towing - no EV truck is designed for long distance towing. Pull through charging network is the only way to solve this. If 365 days long distance towing is a must, Semi is a better option. It’s so easy to bring this up just to prove Cybertruck is not a real truck. It’s like saying I want an ICE truck that can tow all day without refueling at a gas station.

Off roading - you are kidding right?Variable height, wade mode, full rocker plate underneath. Please research more on Torque vectoring.

It seriously boggles my mind on how one cannot see the Truck factors of the Cybertruck, despite people using it in real world farm/ranch/businesses to prove otherwise! ?ā€ā™‚?

Then in those cases, since the cybertruck excels, they no longer count as a truck thing! It’s very simple. (In the minds of haters of course)

Yeah its not a real truck. How did i just tow a 8500lbs camper 30 miles then onto a a SANDY BEACH? And towed a 3200lb camper 230 miles, up and down mountains better then any other vehicle I have driven? It must have been my imagination.

He is right on a few things but the final conclusion is completely wrong IMO. CT is not a demo or experimental project. It’s a very badass truck in its segment. Dimensions, payload, towing, torque, maneuverability, air suspension, HFS body, power outlets, cameras, vaulted cargo, and so many other things make it a very practical truck. Some people are just not ready to accept that a highly innovative sci-fi looking truck can do real truck things, and no - flying cars are not needed to accept this reality (as he says in the video). Time will tell!
this guy is not a TESLA fan.

I could not get past the oversimplified ā€˜technical’ explanations of the heating system and the 48V electrical system. I stopped when he said ā€if resistance remains the same and you increase the voltage, you DECREASE the current.ā€ That is absolutely WRONG. I know what he was trying to say, but if resistance stays the same current will go UP with voltage. What he’s missing is the resistance does NOT stay the same. The 48V power window motor has HIGHER resistance than a 12V power window motor of the same power rating.
Voltage = Current x Resistance. 1V = 1A x 1Ī©.
Holding resistance at 1Ī© and doubling the voltage gives you 2 amps. 2V=2Ax1Ī©
I could not get past that. I felt dumber after listening to him.
