I guess the engineers at Tesla figured out how to defy the laws of physics then. What a great achievement!
They used a harder material that is more scratch resistant. It's common sense.

Yes, I said the same when I was attempting to explain the difference between the hardened stainless with a ground-in finish and regular paint with clearcoat on top. He will apparently just ignore it and continue on stating that the stainless is "factually" going to get the crap scratched out of it just by going in a car wash.

So, are you saying that sand and other various particulate imbedded into a rotary brush, foam pad, or substrate cannot scratch the steel or glass in your truck? Or am I misreading you here?

Nope. I'm saying that the finish was applied by Tesla into the stainless steel by literally grinding it with a grinder. The stainless steel is not damaged in the same way that a regular car's clearcoat is scratched. It is simple to scratch clear coat, but things that might cause damage to clear coat will typically not damage the stainless. (And other things that might be harmless to clear coat, like bird crap, may require immediate attention on the stainless.) If there were a micro scratch, you'd probably never even notice because of the grain that Tesla ground into the stainless.

It's certainly possible that someone in some anecdotal case somewhere around America might have a bad experience with a terrible car wash, but the vast majority of people will never see a single instance of damage from going through a car wash with their Cybertruck.

In summary, if a bird craps on your Cybertruck, immediately put it through a car wash. âś…

I purposely take my cyber truck through a touch car wash at least once a week. I pay monthly so I could take thru every day. Some touch car washes have the ability to pull off the rotating brushes with the push of a button . I insist they don’t, and that I have full contact with rotating brushes. Stainless steels all Corrode just a slower Rate. The rotating brushes burnish the stainless steel and keep it looking great. Infact it looks better than new because all the panels now have a uniform finish, which would be near impossible to get an even uniform finish even with BarKeepers Friend hand finish…..ask me how I know.

The addition of Graphene wax with every wash keeps it looking great all of the time. It never seems to have annoying finger pronts either. Water beads on all surfaces.

I was very concerned while waiting for the CYBER TRUCK as to how much effort what it would take to keep it looking nice. I’m not any longer.

I no longer am considering the need for a PPP Wrap, which would require hand washing and has a limited life, let alone the cost. It looks like the CyberTruck will be the easiest vehicle I have ever owned to maintain. Yes there are micro scratches on the finish from the brushes if you look very closely. That is the way it came with a brushed finished new. Look at the reflection in the side panel. It looks great. I like the stainless look. It is one of the things that attracted me to buy it.

That is my opinion.

Car Wash. must we use touchles car washes? Or, can we use touch type?
I would only go with a high quality roll over car wash such as a Istobal m22 or newer. Touchless cant clean very good.

Your Cybertruck is looking great! And being the easiest to maintain vehicle will be of great interest to all those people who actually believed the "hard to maintain" BS that is spread around the Internet by those who are trying to dissuade people from buying them. Only weak-minded people buy into the BS.

Got a late fall skeeter on my frunk and the protein embedded before I was able to clear it. Oh well. I never bought this behemoth for its glitter and glam. I want all the rest of the great features and tech that come with this awesome product.the size, shape and flat out head turner that is the Cybertruck, still makes me smile each time I get into it.
