Ccs1 adapter doesn’t fit almost stranded

Am I the only one that didn’t know that the Tesla adapter for ccs1 doesn’t work on CT
I’m on a road trip and can’t charge in the little town I’m in because it doesn’t reach into the charge port enough
Would have been stranded if I hadn’t been warned by a cool dude in a green beast
Was able to top off at last supercharger but now I can’t really go anywhere because I will be stranded with 50 kw charger down the street that I can’t use.

You can pull the fender off (and unbolt cover?)to make that adapter fit.

You may not be the only one, but there is a long thread about this some months back. This one is a solution although some people had misgivings about the electrical soundness of this option. I’m not one of them so I bought it and it literally (back then), and due to backlog it literally just came in this week.

I haven’t used it and I hope I never have to.

And some people on the prior thread just took a Dremel to the adapter itself. My other one lives in my model S, so I needed a new one anyhow.

Yeah, but depends on the adapter how much needs removed and if it retains integrity.

I guess that it never dawned on you to test it before needing it. You can't even order one for the Cybertruck on the Tesla site.

There have been many threads about CCS charging on the forum.

Are you the only one who didn't know, probably not, but it has been well publicized on the forums and YouTube. Some of the first videos on YouTube talked about it.

As mentioned earlier, there are 3rd party options now (A2Z is linked above, Hanshow posted about their version late last week). In addition, you can use an EVJect adapter to make your existing CCS adapter work. It isn't as convenient as a one piece adapter, but may be cheaper if you can find a deal on the EVJect.
