No way you can drive around in a Cybertruck and let the two fossils/dinosaur trucks TRX and Raptor beat you.
Ah I get it now..

You do you little buddy! I’m rooting for you!!

@cyberbeatles - in all seriousness, I hate to say this but 1 second fast responsiveness does make a huge difference. I’m saying this with experience riding fast motorcycles. I don’t care about other trucks beating me. It’s all about your experience. Nobody will give you a trophy for overtaking trucks on a freeway.

The experience never gets old. I can’t tell you how many times I have taken my Porsche for a quick drive after stressful day and felt better.

If you are ok to afford the beast and don’t mind the wait, it’s totally worth it IMO. I’m getting 911 acceleration for 20K premium. That’s totally worth it. So I’m holding on to Beast. I went through the exact opposite of your thought process - switching to AWD. I just couldn’t do it man. If I’m spending a fortune, I might as well go for the best, which is the beast!

At the end, it’s a very personal decision. We are here to share our perspective, and confuse you more. You see, CONFUSION is necessary to get CLARITY!

Hope you are clear now on what you need. If not, you can count on us to confuse you more!

Local Tesla store can’t change. They will ask you to call them. If the messaging option is not available from your Tesla app, then calling them is the only way. Just be ready to stay on hold for an hour or so.

You do you as well !!! I love rooting for the slow people out there! The ones who almost could get the good version of the truck, but instead settled for less .. it's so cute.... Good for you little guy!

Yup. Thats what happens when one is allowed to be influenced by trolls.

Keeping holding! Hopefully you get your wish!
He's not influenced by anyone, he just doesn't want the crappy slow version of the truck, that's all my little friend !!!! All good!

I was able to switch from AWD to Beast through the chat. Had to delete the delivery steps and then the chat icon showed up. My order agreement shows the change with same RN and order date placed -12/26/23

After lots of contemplation about the perfect 2-Tesla household for me, and originally reserving Tri-motor, it's AWD for the range. I'll put that CB $20k toward upgrading my M3P to MS Plaid (or M3PH if <= 2.5s). Maybe in a couple more years with improved batteries, I'll spring for the latest CB with 420mi range and beat Lambos with both cars, but for now a wimpy 600HP truck will do. =)

I have ordered FS CB, waiting for VIN. When I messaged Tesla from the app asking whether I can switch to AWD, they said it's possible. I didn't do it as I was just enquiring.

If you are 100% sure, just message and tell them you want to switch, but I think you need to do it before VIN is assigned.
When I enquired today they said it’s not possible and said I can do the change later on the app. Is that possible?

I’m not sure as I haven’t reached that stage yet, but my Tesla rep asked me whether I want to make the change right now. I said don’t make any change as I was only enquiring.

This is the thing with them sometimes. You get different answers depending on who you talk to.

Two months ago, they couldn’t put my FS reservation on hold. Now they have done it for couple of months. Someone else said once the VIN is assigned, I can max push it out for max 3 months. Other guy said I can continue to put reservation on hold till you get non-FS. Last year they said it was not possible.

If you have the messaging option from the App, use that to communicate. There will be a written record of their response. You can ask them to lookup if their response differ

Oh no that’s weird. I have checked on other forums they said to call the local Tesla dealer to change the order. Will try that out.
