Where/when I grew up (Michigan) there were ABC, NBC, and CBS, and they basically reported the same news. I do not recall opinions until after the 80s. My guess is that the internet helped bring it on.

It was called commentary and was less than 5 minutes at the end. So, I guess people generally weren't distinguishing the two even then.

I can predict every political opinion of this writer with 100% accuracy. I know who she will vote for, gauge her anger about Twitter becoming a true free speech platform, and have an 80% good guess re: her preferred pronouns.

Exactly. I know this forum wants us to steer clear of p*litics. So I erased a couple of sentences and left just the one. CNN was good like 35 or 40 years ago. Now they are the leader in BS news.

They don't lead in it, but they don't avoid it.
