If you're conflicted you should probably pass. No one "needs" a Cybertruck and, in fact, an enormous percentage of pickup drivers don't need a pickup truck. I bought one because I prefer pickup trucks to other vehicles. They offer a lot of the benefits of a full-size SUV with a bed vs internal storage. I find it convenient to toss things in the bed vs carefully placing things in the back of an SUV.

All of my most recent vehicles have been P/U ICE and EV. I still have a first edition Hummer SUT. So if you are trying to justify that you need this vehicle then you may come up short.

I almost passed on my CT and now that I have it and can't imagine what I could possibly get next other than an updated Cybertruck.
Well this kinda a lot like you making me want to NOT pass!

I have a Model Y right now and it’s a bit cramped for our family and dogs. I’m a tall guy and really want a bed to toss things in (strollers, kids bikes and toys, dog stuff, home improvement things.)

I think you’ve convinced me ?

I wasn't trying to talk you out of it, but it's not a trivial decision. I'm a pickup driver and I've had/have all the EV pickups. I had a Rivian, F150L, have the Hummer and Cyberbeast. Prior to EVs I had all had 3 generations of Raptors.

If you're comfortable with the expense I'd be surprised if the you were disappointed with the vehicle in anyway. I nearly went AWD and at the last second before I hit enter, changed it to a beast. My big regret, I had a preorder in the first minutes, was not getting the FS and the additional items they include. However, overall my Cyberbeast is my favorite over all other DDs I've had.

Now if my wife's MBZ lease would just end I'd get out from under that mistake.

I’m a very early reservation holder who has been dying to buy a Cybertruck since the 2019 announcement.

I absolutely don’t “need” a Cybertruck, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting one.

I was able to get a foundation series beast reserved with free supercharging, $12k off, and now the 0% financing offer.
Right now I’m finishing up a 48 hour test drive and am reminded of how much I enjoyed driving one the first time.

However, now that my Sunday delivery date draws nearer I’m getting cold feet about spending so much money on a definite luxury.

i can “afford it” but keep thinking of what else I could do with the 108k.

I also keep coming back to this being the end of the Foundation series. It seems unlikely there will ever be another 0% + free supercharging offer anytime soon as I’ve seen the local stock vanish. In hindsight I maybe should have saved $20k and picked up an AWD Foundation but they’re long since gone in my local area.

I’m really mostly venting a bit, but I welcome any advice either way on what to do! Should I just go ahead with it and sell it if it becomes a guilty burden?
Not sure if this has already been said, The beauty of 0%APR for someone who could already afford it is that the bucket of money that you had set aside can do “work” as it’s also being doled out monthly at 0%. We were going to pay cash for our AWD CT, in a couple of months, but when 0% got announced it made
much better financial sense to pay the lowest down payment for the longest term at 0% and then just start investing the 100k that we had set aside.

So we’re getting the price adjustment on the AWD, and “making” like 5k in interest, and “buying” the CT for like 9k this month. I would have gotten an FS AWD, for even more deals but as you might have seen, all the inventory models are either purchased, or they’re being hidden by Tesla.

It’s much better to spend someone else’s money haha.

Yikes! I wish I had that offer when I bought my Foundation. Reality is if you can charge at home it is a game changer and will free up a lot of your family time. I have as many have bought items out of wants not needs and that is ok. The issue with this truck is the length will be hard to get use to if you drive smaller cars. I just came from a townhome community and the parking spots were tiny. The truck stuck out the back into the street several feet.
I enjoy driving this as much as possible. What happens when family members drive it? Your other vehicles will suddenly have lower miles added than usual. Rural drivers love the truck and city drivers may learn a few new cuss words just due to many tiny parking spots. I am saving transportation costs per mile and love it.

$12,000 off? Darn- wished I had waited. By t I did get the cyber tent for free by taking the cash credit instead of the PowerShare unit install.

Happy with the truck. The free charging is cool- but not important as I charge at home 99% of the time.

Get it wrapped by a good shop/ the stainless skin is just stupid- impossible to keep looking nice. They need to use the same stainless like they use on fridges now - non- smug stainless.

Based on the recent Model S/X extremely incremental "updates" - you won't be missing much of any utility if you wait for the next version.

All I can give is my experience.
I took delivery of a Foundation CT June 2024. I loved the truck. At 3K warranty replaced both front and rear drive units and around 4K miles it started making front drive unit chirp and grinding noises. The noises made it a horrible experience. Imagine having a baby chicken chirping the whole time you drive. Tesla ended up buying the truck back. I was sad to see it go but the noises would have driven me crazy. Every passenger asked about it. I was lucky they were willing to buy back.
I will buy another at maybe + 100,000 VIN.
in 9 months and 13,000 miles I only used a super charger 3 times. It’s possible I would’ve used it more if it would’ve been free. But the convenience of charging at home was pretty great.

Oh come on, everyone knows an LED strip, front camera, wheel change, and slight body changes is epic! /sarcasm

The updated Model S/X is a disgrace. ha!

So that’s about the same that I have…Foundation Series Cyberbeast with FSD.

I purchased the Cyberbeast to replace a 2020 F-350 and a modified 2016 BMW X5M that I hardly drove any more. I figured I would try it and if I didn’t like it I would just sell it…and…I absolutely love this thing and drive it all the time.

On top of buying the FS Cyberbeast my wife then ended up with a Model S Plaid because of the Cyberbeast.

What is crazy is I have options on what I can be driving and I am only driving the Cyberbeast nearly 100% of the time. I had zero interest in an electric vehicle and only bought this thing to try it out for a while and I’m to the point that I am considering selling off some of my other cars because they just sit and don’t really get driven at all.

I'm ordering a MS Plaid for my wife. She struggling on exterior color choice--leaning red.

How are you liking the tent?

1st world problems yo! haha!

The new Frost Blue Metallic looks badass IMO.
I honestly think there wouldn’t be any deliberation about red if it weren’t for the new frost blue.

Well, Tesla moved my delivery date without any input from me so I've got some more time to think i guess!
