Trying to look around the corner.

How could Tesla change the color of the CT without paint or wraps?

Is it possible to change the stainless to be different colors? At a relatively low cost?

Like graphite or darker grey? What about lighter or shinier stainless?

I’m just thinking that if Tesla can pump out 10k/month at some point, there’s going to be some stainless fatigue.

Think about 1mm CTs on the road, all looking nearly identical.

I'm not exactly a metallurgist (I think I only had 1 or 2 classes on that in engineering school), but I can tell you it would not be easy. You could probably get the same gray that they made the foundation series logo without ruining the temper. But anything more extreme like bronze, purple, or blue would require a lot of heat and a complete disassembly of the entire truck down to the steel.

The same disassembly would be needed for black oxide.

It's also important to note that it would be difficult to ensure homogenous color over the panels of different thicknesses.

There was a recent video about gold plating but this is significantly more expensive than a wrap.

I suppose you could do copper, zinc, or nickel instead.

Not thinking a tear down.
Thinking the stainless used could be color changed prior to manufacturing.
Say, have a run of bronze colored trucks.
