Yeah I see the disappointment but it’s the bashing or anger or what ever you want to call it that is cringeWell, the topic of this thread is the Cybertruck reservation list, and how it is (or is not) converting into orders. That list apparently grew to more than 2,000,000 reservations from 2019 to 2023, which is a lot. But it now seems like only a tiny fraction of those reservations are converting into actual orders. So this raises a question: why did so many people put down cash for reservations, then fail to follow through?
And one possible explanation is: many of the people who placed reservations expected the Cybertruck to be a lot more affordable -- based on what Tesla told them. And now, as you say, they "just simply can't buy it".
It's not personal for me -- I am not in the market for a Cybertruck, and never placed a reservation. But I can see why some people who did place reservations might feel disappointed.
I think they knew and allot knew there would be allot of reservations that wouldn’t convert. 2019 and 2024 might as well be 20 years for some people financial changes. Then you had the dreamers hoping by the time they got the invite they would have made it on Wall Street by then and it didn’t happen . I’m also noticing a huge group of people that are saying they have “multiple reservations” which baffles me to what’s the point of that? So clearly allot of those won’t convert . It does seem though allot of angry or disappointed people are hoping some how it fails so it drops in price which also is baffling to me. The fact that allot of people think that because it’s so high in price he’s losing is wild. He can now sell less of the trucks and make the same money as if all the reservations converted,
I also am of the beliefs that more people with that type of money see it more of a status or glamor buy now that they won’t feel there is someone driving a 50k one next to them that’s the same so it opens that market up more . Many car company’s we’ll all of them pretty much have no waiting list for there vehicles and are being sold day after day so if there truly is “no more list “ I don’t see that meaning the truck is failing or will now drop in price. People still will order everyday
Btw: 14 pages in this thread. It’s been about all kinds of things by now ?
