The Model 3 line did not go as fast as the Cybertruck list.

Well, if they wanted two trucks, and the trucks were $50K each... ...But then they spent $100k on one truck, they're clearly not going to buy that second truck, now are they?

Many fleets aren't going to buy the expensive version.

You do know the 'lighter' Lightning has a smaller battery, and hence, a shorter towing range? The Lightning that is heavier than the Cybertruck has the same towing range.

Wait so your saying because Tesla is charging more for the CT then expected it’s keeping “fleet buyers “ from purchasing and turning it into a crap product over sold ? Amen to that broski

Is that English? Or logic?

You overspent on a truck.

Haha doesn’t bother me I would do it again . And you want a truck that you can’t afford now what ? Edit: if you could afford the truck you would have been more than happy to “over spend”’on the truck wouldn’t you ? What does that say ?

Well, that's great. That means it was optimal for you.

That's always the best outcome. But you have you realize other people aren't you. Their needs are different: They needed or wanted multiple trucks. Their ability to pay a price is different: They have $100k for two trucks, or couldn't afford a truck that was over $60k or over $80k.

And so... Their either bought the expensive truck and can't buy that second one, or go without the Cybertruck because they literally can not afford it.

Because that's like, nearly everyone.

I mean we can play this game all day long. Someone out there has less then you and thinks what you have should be affordable to them and it isn’t fair and to that you would tell them ? Probably “sorry to bad not my problem, I’m sorry in so many words . Maybe Elon should make the CT free for Unicef ?

See, that's where you go off the rails. It's a nonsensical statement.

Why do you care if the truck gets priced less? Then more people can also have the enjoyment you've had. It doesn't reduce the truck in any way. (And really makes sure that you're more likely to be able to repair yours.)

OK, I can see you've bought into the BS. :ROFLMAO:

If you bring your Lightning to Washington, we can talk, go wheeling, compare how they both handle heavy trailers, compare stereos, compare the ride over rugged terrain, compare climbing ability on different surfaces and ability to drive through road washouts, compare wading ability, compare ease of loading and unloading different cargo, compare nimbleness in space constricted parking lots and job sites, compare operating costs, compare effectiveness of the Air Conditioning while fast charging, compare travel time on mountain twisties, compare highway range at 80 mph, compare handling with a full rated load (even though it's much lower with the Lightning), etc. etc. etc. ?‍♂

Hint: The Cybertruck frame isn't going to crack, even towing a 11,000 lb. trailer. Don't be so gullible! Please!
I sold my Lightning to buy my CT, and I've regretted it quite a bit since. Mainly because I wish I sold my Model 3 and kept the Lightning + Cybertruck. The Lightning was more comfortable on longer trips and had more storage. Having all my luggage get wet in the bed of my CT versus the massive frunk of the Lightning was a bummer on a recent trip.

I'd say it's 60-40, the CT does more right than the Lightning. But the Lightning is 60% the price, so until the CT goes down another $20k, I think both have a purpose. Especially for work, I really miss reaching over the side of my truck bed, CT makes that impossible. It's a bit of an irony, but the CT has replaced a car well, not so much a work truck. Steer by wire makes driving the CT in tight downtown areas easier than my Lightning ever was, and the air suspension let's me fit in my work garage that was too small for my Lightning.

I'm waiting to see if Tesla brings steer by wire to any other models. If it isn't at least announced by the end of next year, my M3P will likely be traded for a Lightning again.

How does that make sense ? It’s already been noted on this site that when “NFS” buyers got there invites they ran quick to let the FS owners no they over paid . Clearly the lower the price the more it devalues the product , you even did it your self “you over paid “ so let’s say it dropped to 50 and you ran out and placed your order then a bunch came on here saying “this is crap we want it for 30k” you would be one of the first to be like “ummm no you can’t get a CT for that cheap give me a break “ I just know it. And then your 50k truck would be devalued . Why is that hard to grasp ? I only “over paid “ if the truck drops in value and the FS doesn’t hold its value and even then I really don’t care. Any car you buy of
Any line you over paid and will drop in value the day you drive it off the lot. Cars are not good investments

Do it. Just sale the CT now before it devalues and go get your lighting

I don't disagree that the truck is awesome. Why else would I be here?

But it doesn't matter if it's awesome. It's too expensive (for me). Even now, it costs half what my house did. Until it's a third, my spouse says N-O. Also, this year is just bad for us. We could've bought it last year at this price.

Got my invite to build the non-FS a few weeks back (RN1129). Plaid is sold so I have the green light from the spouse. I really want to see what that tax credit will do but I just don't see it happening, though. I've waited essentially 5 years so I guess another couple of months isn't going to hurt. I'd like to at least know I have a 2025. Maybe they might get the tax credit sorted out by then but I think that is just wishful thinking.

But I said the perfect combo would be:
1) Lightning - Work truck and long trips.
2) CT - More fun to drive and better in the city.

CT is the ultimate Model 3 replacement, not the ultimate Lightning replacement.

It is funny how many people on here never owned, or likely even drove, a Lightning and hate it. I've put 10k+ miles in both Lightning and CT, I am not an uninformed stan.
