Hey everyone, I have an AWD Cybertruck with the 20” core wheels. I recently took off my new wheel covers for the first time to go do a little off-roading, and when I went to put them back on, I noticed that they have a bit of wiggle room which I don’t think was there before I removed them.

The reason I’m so paranoid is the first set of wheel covers I got with my truck became quite loose for whatever and caused a very loud rattle over bumps. They were replaced under warranty with these new ones. The new ones don’t make any noise so far.

My question is, what amount of wiggle room is normal? A little bit, or none at all? Thanks for in advance for answering.

In my experience the core covers start rattling when the central plastic prongs break off. The unbroken ones on mine don’t wiggle at all (like <1mm of play in plane with the cover). One hard whack a little off center when reinstalling the cover is enough to break off a prong, so I’ve become much more careful about reinstallation.

On mine, there’s a little bit of play when you pull gently on some of the “spokes” of the cover, but no movement side to side.

I had my windows down one day and was like holy crap what's all that noise. It was my wheel covers jiggling around. They had a lot of play in them. Went to the service center here in San Antonio and the girl was like yup, that's crazy let me get you some new ones. Few days later service popped over to my house and gave me 4 new ones. He let me keep a couple of them as backups incase any of them really cracked or broke. It was just a tab or something around the center circle ring that had cracked a little and created a loose fit.

Wheel covers straight up aren’t worth it. I didn’t buy the toughest truck of all time to be gentle with some plastic dinner plates on my wheels.
