I have almost 5K miles on my FS AWD. This creaking heard in the video just started a few days ago and it seems to track with turning the steering wheel.

Anyone have any insight as to what it could be? I have a confirmed service appointment for next week.

Sounds like something needs WD-40. The steer by wire?

I have similar noise but only hear it while stopped or very slow. Procrastinating yet another frustrating SC appt. Let us know what happens.

I may have something similar chalked it up to steer by wire and normally having music on. I’ll test mine when I get it back from the SC or call them and have them check.

let us know what they say next week!

I have a new beast vin series 43xxx, when i'm parked, and move my steering wheel slowly, the creaking sounds are super loud. It's a metaly gringing noise, not the tires on the pavement, they are quiet. I'll get a recording, i'm interested if it's the same as yours.

Listen to this clip, i was in my driveway with smooth pavement, the tires slide just fine on it and this happens on any type of ground. There is that grinding/whining noise from the turning motors. Does that happen to everyone? I just picked this truck up a week ago and my VIN series is 43xxx.

That's the sound of the brake pads shifting against the rotors.

To prove it there's no sound when your wheels are moving, no matter how slow. You can also press the brake pedal when turning the steering wheel then slowly let go of the brake pedal and hear the exact same noise.

I’ll give those tests a go and report back, however if it’s true, why does it happen on the CT and not other Tesla models?

Same thing is happening to mine. Did Tesla service fix issue.

Yes they did. It's the lower middle console section - where it meets the floor in the back, in the backseat area beneath the rear monitor. That section apparently was/is not being properly mounted during assembly, causing loosening and the noise. Don't ask me why it's a creak.

My tech dissembled and remounted that entire section and it hasn't made a sound since. That was like over two months ago.

It's not the steering or suspension as I originally suspected.

Thanks for the follow up on the cause of the sound.

The sound has gotten worse for me, it's so bad. I just don't think it is supposed to happen. I've owned 3 other Tesla's and they don't do that. I'm going to mention it again on my next service appointment.
