Great post, I’m glad you identified this

My internet mysteriously slowed down once I enabled FSD and now it makes sense
I assume you have been sending voice notes for disengagements as well?

Towards the end of the month, whenever I get notified from Comcast they are about to charge me for exceeding my limit; I just turn the WiFi off on my CT each day. I stop turning off WiFi once I am on the new bill cycle.

Yes, I was doing this dutifully and now stopped. Slowing down my work day is not going to make FSD any better

It is fun knowing you are helping to solve autonomy though!

It uploads as much as it can while the vehicle would already be on. It's not using an appreciable amount of additional electricity.
Don't own Cybertruck (yet) but our 2023 Model 3 is only awake for around 5-10 minutes when we arrive home and will only wake up to top off the 16V battery if parked ,not driven, for six plus days. It does wake to download a firmware update and is awake while it is being installed; however, I would not think it would be uploading driving data during those two functions. (has anyone monitored this on their network)?

Has anyone monitored when and for how long the Cybertruck is typically awake while parked at home? and how much energy is used while it is awake? I have read threads on this forum concerning the Cybertruck being awake for a considerable time while parked at home.

Early Cybertrucks didn't sleep well. Now, they can go 4+ days while plugged in before topping off the pack.
I think their power system has a secondary path for the 48V top off that doesn't require using the main contactors.

Can anyone confirm this statement?

If true, this could over many years and thousands of Cybertrucks save considerable energy!

I'm consistently 8gb a week, 32/month. I drive less than 200 miles a week, which might be a factor.

The cybertruck is crushing through my Comcast data cap each month. October was 460gb and Comcast only gives you a 1.2tb cap per month.
$10 extra and you get unlimited or if you have x2 (Xfinity) available, also unlimited. $99/month in Florida. 2gbps

You nailed it. The truck is probably compressing the telemetry, then de-compressing during the upload.
You are joking right? RIGHT? Maybe just a blond moment. :)

Oh wow…

Nobody would decompress something just to send it elsewhere. You only decompress when ready to use the data. Especially over the internet.

Oh, ha! I see what you are saying now. My brain didn't send the right message to my fingers to type lol. Good catch, I fixed my reply.

Yep, it will upload video data for training. The amount really jumped once FSD was deployed, which is expected.
I must be uploading a lot of data! I drove the truck only once since I got FSD about 4 weeks ago. It's been driving me all the time. It's addictive.
