I must say, my whole experience with Tesla has been less than impressive. Not only does nobody know anything about an order, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who gets delivery. I’m in OK so not sure if there is something specific to Okla, but on Day 225 for my Cyberbeast order.

plus I requested a powerwall and solar consultation. Never heard from an installer. Requested it August 5th. Got an email yesterday asking how my experience was with the certified installer. Have no record of anyone attempting to contact me.

I’m a huge fan of Elon, Tesla, and all the products, but this has been very frustrating and discouraging. Nobody knows a single thing about an order. Even if they said you won’t have your truck until December, that would be better than nothing.

Tesla isn't a car dealership, they're a car manufacturer. Just something to think about.

Yeah I get that. But if they are going to do manufacturing and selling/distribution, should it be acceptable to just be really bad at the selling/distributing part?

It'll happen. I'd be pissed at day 225, but assume very soon!!!!

On the PowerShare, call Qmerit and ask for the installer they recommended and call them!

The CT rollout has been particularly bad compared to their other vehicles. Maybe a Texas thing?

Did they give you a vin? I wouldn’t expect anything till the vin comes and even then it’s just a quick test that says do more stuff in the app and then wait who knows how long again.

As for the solar, it took me 4.5 years before I got an update on mine and that was just another quick text said a contractor would be in touch. Oddly they said no certified installers in my area but when the SunFarm come to see me I told them and they said they been doing it installing for several years. I was just glad to get the Tesla setup have turned down many other companys knocking on my door.

No vin. Just “your order is in the queue and there is nothing wrong with it”. Nothing more than that.

Ok yeah you prolly have a long while to wait yet. The foundation invite will come in a email. Then you order and put down another 1K. Then you wait who knows for the vin, then you wait again for deliver schedule, and maybe you get lucky and they don’t push out your pickup day due to issues. And finally take delivery.

For me, reserved 12/25/19
Invite & ordered 5/24/24
Vin 8/25/24
Expected delivery TBD

But I’m about to leave USA for 3 weeks, bet they want me to pick it up then and my luck I loose this vin and back in the queue of waiting. I could pay for it now and have my ex wife ( still married) pick it up. But.. doubt they will let me. Awe well is what it is.

Nothing happens till you get the Vin; at vin time you can go to the Qmerit.com and fill out their survey. Subsequently if your survey meets the precepts you will be mated to an installer.

Some people have already taken delivery of multiple trucks while others not a single one. It's so messed up.

I think that's my biggest frustration.

It is why Tesla needs a dealership model. Or they need to partner with a dealer to allow their vehicles to be sold the traditional way. Sales have peaked, people who are comfortable buying a car online already have done it. To further expand sales, they'll need to cave and do things the right way, the dealership way.

I bought a Lightning between my M3P and CT, entirely because Tesla is just awful at selling cars. Some people have it better, like those in CA near a good sales center. But for people nowhere near Tesla density (i.e. - me), taking delivery of a Tesla is a nightmare. Without a SBW Model S, my next vehicle won't be a Tesla for this very reason.
