I'm scheduled to pick up my CB this Saturday. In prep I used AI to pull details from various post in this forum then edited and added to create this list. Update and adjust as needed.

Tesla Cybertruck Delivery Inspection Checklist

Introduction: This checklist is designed to help you focus on cosmetic issues that might be rejected if not identified during the delivery process. Pay close attention to details that could be disputed later, such as scratches, dents, or alignment issues, especially those that might be assumed to have occurred after you took delivery.

1. Exterior Inspection
  • Body Panels and Trim: Check for scratches, dents, panel misalignment, or damage to stainless steel panels and plastic trim.
  • Glass: Inspect all windows, including the windshield, for scratches or chips.
  • Stainless Steel Quality: Inspect the quality of the stainless-steel body for uniformity, scratches, and any surface imperfections.
  • VIN Verification: Confirm that the VIN on the vehicle matches your delivery documents.
2. Interior Inspection
  • Seats and Dashboard: Check seats, dashboard, and trim for damage, scratches, or any signs of wear.
  • Functionality of Interior Components: Test door locks, window controls, mirrors, and wipers. Ensure all doors, including the tailgate and vault, function correctly.
  • Rattles and Noises: Inspect for any rattles, particularly around the dashboard, door panels, and other trim areas.
3. Functional Checks
  • Lighting: Test all exterior and interior lights, including headlights, taillights, indicators, and bed lights.
  • Advanced Features: Ensure all advanced features and systems specific to your model are functioning as expected.
  • USB Ports: Test the USB ports to ensure they are functioning correctly and verify that they match the configuration (USB-C ports in the center console and USB-A in the glovebox). Confirm that they work for charging and data transfer where applicable.
  • Sentry System Setup: Format the USB drive correctly for the Sentry Mode system and verify that the system is recording as expected.
4. Drivability Tests
  • Vehicle Power-On: Check that the vehicle powers on without any warnings.
  • Regenerative Braking: Test the regenerative braking system to familiarize yourself with its feel.
  • Noise and Handling: Listen for unusual noises during a short drive and assess handling performance.
5. Wheels and Tires
  • Tire Condition: Inspect tires for wear and damage. Remove excess tire shine.
  • Wheels: Inspect rims for any signs of damage. Check wheel covers for proper installation and alignment.
6. Accessories and Features
  • Included Extras: Verify that all accessories, such as mats, gear locker dividers, and aero covers, are included and properly installed. All-Weather Interior Liners, Glass Roof Sunshade, Center Console Tray, Gear Locker Dividers, Vault D-Rings, L-Track Hooks, L-Track Bottle Opener, J1772 Adapter, and Mobile Connector
  • Off-Road Light Bar *when available
  • Interior Electronics: Test the infotainment screen for dead pixels, responsiveness, and any scratches.
7. Final Steps
  • Documentation of Issues: If you find any issues, take detailed photos and report them immediately to the delivery advisor. Use the Tesla app to schedule service appointments for any problems not resolved on the spot.
  • Payment and Documentation: Complete final payments and ensure all documentation, such as registration and insurance details, are correctly processed.
8. Post-Delivery Follow-Up
  • Service Appointments: Ensure any reported issues are logged and scheduled for service as needed.
  • Post-Delivery Checklist: Familiarize yourself with the Owner’s Manual and Tesla’s in-app features for continued support and service scheduling.
Picked her up on Saturday. Love it!

Some minor misalignments, two scratches, and major hood stains that they couldn't get out. All noted by the SA. He said the hood would need to be sanded - but looking at it and the detail instructions from "Out of Spec Detail" and cleaning with Barkeepers Friend - Soft Cleaner that will likely get all the oxide stains out.

Lower your service expectations. Truck was not clean and detailed. Outside was dirty with lots of water stains. Inside was good except for the heavy fogging on the inside/windshield. They tried cleaning the window but left many streaks. Tires were not dressed and Wheel covers were missaligned which they fixed while I waited.

Truck had 61% charge and 11 miles on it. Enough to get me home with 19% remaining.

Had the same issue with my truck with the hood. Is yours circular?. I told them either sand it out or replace the part of the frunk because I want to keep it stainless steel look. They said they would... Waiting on a "specialist" sander for me to take it back.

I did BKF and Random orbital polisher. No luck. It's not an ordinary stain unfortunately.

I accidentally quoted the wrong person earlier.. Did Tesla update your app today for scheduling delivery and if so, did they give you only one day to choose from in the calendar view?
Typically they give 3 days to choose from and mine is only showing one day next week 9/28 Saturday as an option.
I messaged delivery team and awaiting a reply whether a sooner day is available or if that is the only option. So Sat 9/28 either 2, 3 or 4 pm to pick from.
I don’t yet have the ability to schedule. I did message the delivery team but haven’t heard back.

Ok thanks, once you get a schedule I’ll be curious if they also give you only one day to choose from for pickup, being that we are both at the same delivery timeframe and location.

Out of context, I live like 1:45 minutes away and when we go to this SC, it is a given that we always eat at Long John Silvers if there around dinner time. Especially since its one of our favorites and Penn State is too uppity apparently to keep one in our local area. I also have two siblings living in the area and sometimes visit with them if time allows.

One time I took my 2016 model S90D there for service on an upgraded Pyro Fuse and ended up buying a end of year 2023 model X plaid - Ultra-Red from the showroom floor and had to then return within a week to pick up my model S, lol.
So far we’ve picked up 5 Teslas from this SC and the guys there are just awesome customer service oriented and it feels like they literally roll out the red carpet each time I’m there. Nothing beat that day buying the model X and hopefully the Cyberbeast delivery adds more to the emotion Bank, we’ll see next Saturday if thats so.

I hope you hear something soon and really enjoy the Cybertruck once yo get delivery of it.

Just talked to Tesla delivery. My beast is arriving on location 10/2-10/9. It looks like I’ll be able to schedule later this week.

Oh boy, sorry if they seem to be delaying and hopefully it turns up sooner as I just spoke with the Mechanicsburg SC and he looked up my VIN and told me it is still in transit from Houston TX - currently in north Texas and will arrive in NJ on the 28th and has to be trucked then from there to Mechanicsburg PA.
Essentially I was trying to get a sooner date than my already scheduled Sat the 28th due to Penn State football traffic on RT. 322 that day and now only to find out it may not be ready for delivery until the 30th when I see mine, but he said they will update the app if anything changes and to for now stick with my 28th schedule.

All of this tells me logically, that yours will also going to the same SC and would be arriving in NJ on either the 28th or 29th. At least I would assume so, making yours an earlier than expected delivery.

THEY GOT ME!!! In Florida.
order 9/11/24 tactical grey/25” cover wheels
VIN: received today 9/16/24
I was like MAN THAT WAS FAST.
BUT…..
they are trying to give me the small core wheels and I specifically ordered the big boys. I don’t care about range as much (I drive a gas guzzler)
I’m assuming that the core wheels with tactical grey are not as popular because in 5 days I got my VIN c’mon now. And they are telling me to proceed with the order so they can deliver.

I received the same message today immediately after having a VIN assigned. I don't want the CORE wheels either, instead want the Cyber Wheels and AT tires that I originally ordered.

Responded to the text message accordingly, but haven't heard back yet.

What ended up happening with your order? Did you ever hear back from Tesla?

So they changed it back to what I originally ordered. So then I waited for VIN.
but then sat in my friends Cybertruck at Church (non beast) and I was very satisfied with it so I changed my order yesterday to AWD with white interior. And literally got a VIN today. Delivery will be next week. lol. There are a lot of AWD’s available. The CyberBeasts are definitely less available which is great for those purchasing.

Thanks for sharing. I'm choosing to stay with the CyberBeast, awaiting a reply from Tesla. Hoping it's not too long of a wait to get the CyberWheels / AT tires.

Yes, I'm going to wait. Although no one from Tesla has replied to my text where I responded to their message saying I do NOT want Core Wheels and All-Season tires, and instead want Cyber Wheels and All-Terrain tires. The app also still shows the VIN I received yesterday for a truck with Core Wheels.

I'm not proceeding with the next steps for delivery (provide insurance, etc.) since I don't want the Core Wheels. Tried calling Tesla but to no avail (no one picks up...).

Appreciate if forum members could advise if I'm doing anything wrong here or if it's typical to not get quick responses back from Tesla on this sort of thing.

They will switch it no worries. It’s been happening to a lot of people. But I guess they have more core wheels than the AT/cyberwheels available.
