A "Tilto-meter", in long and short axis. Along with warning lines for tip over point, etc.
Based on the renders, I think some of that will be included.

That brings up another thought though. External apps mean you could conceivably have accessories for your car/ truck. That means potentially you could have aftermarket wireless cameras or other accessories to feed the console of the truck.

They keep talking about these battery powered trailers. You could have the trailer communicate it’s battery state to the truck live.

Or you could have the controls for the crazy catamaran thing inside the cab of the truck and drive the catamaran with a game controller.

Edit: I said “renders” above, but what I meant is the patent drawings we’ve seen.

this isnt about the appstore but more of a wishlist item for the truck. one of the things i love about the taycan is the second screen it has right in front of the passenger seat. imagine if tesla did something like this on the truck where it was a continuation from the front display to the passenger front.

Oh.. **sugar** speaking of third party accessories. People have talked about a deployable drone. This could allow third parties to come up with a solution for this. Having a deployable drone which displays it’s camera view on your console would be great. Seems like being able to get a look at what your truck looks like from above would be super useful for off roading I think.

I just want an android emulator so all the screens and apps look like they do on my phone.

My current rig doesn't even have bluetooth but everything I have converted so far requires knowledge of the menus. I only have a few more tricks that I can remember.

It runs Linux.

Seems like running an Android VM on top would be straightforward. That would need to be something Tesla did though.

Ironically, Apple’s original idea of having Apps be HTML/ JS/ CSS would work fairly well right now for Tesla and would likely be a fairly secure way to run their app eco system. No use space privileges at all, everything would run on top of their web browser which is likely the Chomium based.

An app 'store' is also like a warehouse. At some point the number of apps will exceed the memory on each car (probably already) and there needs to be a method to pick and choose which you want.

Store doesn't mean the options all cost money.

I agree with a lot of the OP's list

In addition to the app store I'd like a lot of good CT specific software - eg driving modes (auto, sport, comfort, Baja, rock crawl, snow, towing, hauling, etc) with each having a lot of adjustment for suspension, traction, throttle, steering, etc...even if some sold as upgrades...eg Baja Mode or similar

Rivian appears to have done a pretty legit job but I think there's more that can be done on CT if they really put their efforts into it

An intercom you can use to chat with other Cybertruck/ Tesla drivers easily? Might be fun.
Back in the day when I drove a Commercial Vehicle we had the CB radio. I had one that would transfer from my truck to my car.
My screen name is my old CB handle.
Since all Teslas are constantly sending data to a central hub there should be a way to tell where any CT is at any given time.
If you had the app open and another CT was in your area you could message them and ask if they want to communicate.
You might end up with a convoy of CT's heading in the same direction on the same route.

1. Forgive my ignorance but do Tesla car owners have to pay continuously for internet service?
2. It would be great to have the "Driving Instructor" app that could give a set of suggestions suitable for a current road situation. It would be a great gift for the Valentine's Day

Premium is 9.99 per mo, not mandatory and free for first year....

They all do it and I hate subs but I have subs on 4 cars and it's just part of it...

Apparently on some models they reduced the free period to 3 months?

I’m not a fan of subs either and my car is coming due soon so I have to make the tough choice of whether to pay for it or not. About the only thing I would miss is being able to Netflix on the console during Supercharger stops. Even that is fairly uncommon.

Mapping and navigation still works fine even though it uses LTE. We mostly stream music/ podcasts from our phone regardless so streaming isn’t a big deal. So paying $10/ month so I can maintain Netflix (while charging) and traffic updates. Hmm. Tough call.

There is a lot of noise right now about the possibility of a Tesla App Store for their consoles.

What is your short list of apps you’d like to see on the Cybertruck console?

For me, it would be:
  • Off-line maps, often I take my cars where cell signals are weak.
  • Something like iOverlander, a database of locations where you can overnight in your car/ truck. Also want off-line access for above reasons.
  • A backroads/ forest roads guide (w/ Off line capability of course) for back hills adventures.
  • Widgets where I can have programmable spots on the screen to display the metric of my choice. For example I would love to have one which shows in nice big numbers the state of charge from the current location to home.
  • Mountain bike specific Apps like Trail Forks… works on the phone, but big screen is nice plus I gotta get there.
  • Route aware weather notifications.
  • A camera view selector which lets me show the view from any camera in full screen.
  • An intercom you can use to chat with other Cybertruck/ Tesla drivers easily? Might be fun.
  • A better way to see food/ rest stop/ travel amenities along my current route.
I know the first 3 are very over-lapping, ideally it would be one app, but I think 3 is more likely.

Also, there are a lot of phone apps for this stuff, but having it on the car console would be nice.
Clearly they will need to specify which apps can run while driving and which ones only work when parked. Do not want anyone trying to FaceTime their kids while driving. When FSD eventually comes into it’s own, “Parked” apps would be unlocked while FSD is on.

Clearly I shouldn’t have typed the above reply before finishing reading…

They would do this of course because Musk and Bezos are super tight right?

I assume any Apple/ Amazon/ Google/ Microsoft integration would be something the respective companies would need to do on their own. Tesla doesn’t need to integrate other people’s tech into their cars to make an extra buck.
I would like to have Gaia GPS maps on the screen for when offroad.
