Right now Tesla vision is a promise on the Cybertruck, its not turned on. You cannot espouse its virtues when its doing exacting nothing right now. This post is the 3rd example on this forum of a damaged Cybertruck that could have been avoided with USS. USS are not perfect, but they are effective.
I was primarily espousing the virtues of NOT having ultrasonic sensors mounted in the bumper. And, yes, I can espouse the virtues of a technology that is not yet downloaded to Cybertruck because millions of other Tesla already have it!

And, no, this forum topic is NOT an example of a damaged Cybertruck that could have been avoided with USS:

1) My truck was not damaged, at least nothing that 5 minutes with a heat gun couldn't fix.

2) I'm not a millenial that tries to blame his own mistake on others. Backing into the tree was my own fault, due to my own inattention. There is no guarantee USS would have been effective as I regularly ignore the beeping and was backing into some low shrubbery, I just didn't know the tree was so close. USS would have changed nothing in this example.

I take full resposibility for not paying attention and I'm not even going to blame my wife who I let distract me at the key moment.

the bottom corner of the tailgate got bent though.
this vehicle really needs sensors - a bunch of $2 sensors could have been a Founders "perk"
+100!!!!

I backed into some drywall in my garage last night. No damage to the truck, but made a nice dent in my drywall. A little bit of wall mud and it was back to normal. But I was cussing up a storm because my Ford has sensors that alert me and it even slams on the brakes to prevent incursions. I guess I just got used it it... time to deprogram myself and pretend they dont exist anymore so I dont do things like this again.

I've only ever had USS on 1 vehicle, and it helped me "learn" the limits and edges of my vehicle. I really didn't need them after that.

The CT cameras are helpful, but I'm still unclear on the locations/distances of the corners. I maneuver very slowly when parking lol

The wife just stuck a hole in the garage. It's one that the USS sensors would definitely NOT HAVE HELPED. Teh cameras should have, but didn't.

Guess what, the truck is longer when you have a hitch attached :(

We aren't blind drivers. We have cameras. We don't beeps to tell us where things are.

Tesla will add vision based detection to CT soon
