The manual does say for off-road driving (the numbers are actually 6 and 7, but the following was a copy/paste of an ordered HTML list, I think):

  1. Remove wheel fairings: Cybertruck has pieces of plastic trim that descend in front of the wheels from the rocker panels on either side of the vehicle. These are the wheel fairings. The wheel fairings increase aerodynamic performance and range, but may be damaged while driving off-road over rough, uneven surfaces, rocks, or obstacles. To prevent damage, remove the front wheel fairings before off-road driving. For more information and instructions for removing the wheel fairings, refer to the Do It Yourself Guide (see Do It Yourself Maintenance).
  2. Remove wheel covers: To prevent damage, remove the wheel covers before driving off-road. For more information, see Removing and Installing Wheel Covers.
If it was me, I'd also think about having inexpensive plastic hub cap covers to keep dirt out of there, when driving with the wheel covers off.

Pretty sure I recall someone took the rear flaps off too; but that seems to take longer and isn't in the DIY guide.

Since at least the front wheel fairings take a beating under those circumstances and often get broken or lost, it seems reasonable enough to take them off for off-road driving.
Good to know! I heard someone earlier just say they wish they were easier to remove. I didnt realize it was suggested but totally makes sense.

Thanks!

EDIT: yeah I actually cant find in the DIY guide how to remove the rear fairings, only the fronts. But either way good to know its more normal than I thought.

This is well done. But does not seem nearly as poised as a Raptor. Seems to be a touch nose heavy. Not sure if this is endemic to the truck, or just not the right amount of throttle off the jump?

I was talking to some other Raptor owners out there, and yeah I think its the right amount of throttle work thats needed to keep it more level. Either way, plenty of reason for me to go back and do it more! :D

Man that looks fun. Mine sits in a garage and gets dirty. Your running around in red clay and it’s showroom clean ?

You did well. Throttle in a jump lifts the nose. Brake (or decelerate) and the nose will drop. Those motocross guys throttle hard after the jump (but while in the air) and do a full flip it’s crazy.

So this past weekend I took the Cybertruck Dual Motor out to Cycle Ranch outside of San Antonio, TX. This is a great motocross park that also has a "Raptor Track" for side-by-sides and trucks.

NEWPOST.png

I know this was the 2nd CT to visit the park but not sure if the 1st to actually jump on the track. The first lap I sent it at 45mph which I thought was conservative but still was enough to catch some air. Then I sent it at 50, 55, and then 60mph. All felt really good up to 60 but I probably wouldn't take it faster than that. It was plenty of air (4ft ish) and I still had enough control on the landing to make the turn.

Overall, it was very easy to handle this around the track and still push it safely. We traded off camera work for riding and took about 10-12 laps that day.

Offroad Settings:
Baja Mode
- Handling Balance 60 to Rear and 40 to Front
- Stability Assist Standard
- Locking Differentials off
- Rear Steer enabled
- Terrain Rugged (Very High Height)

Damage:
- The only piece that broke was one of the mudflap plastic pieces in front of the rear tire. That had an impact on one of the higher jumps that popped the piece off. Same as with the other Cybertruck vs Raptor vs Rivian video had when they jumped it. No other damage other than that. Notice I also kept the tonneau cover open for that reason too.

Fun Dukes of Hazzard Edit

And a video with no audio to hear those tires rip through clay
Yiii-HAAAH! Where's them Daisy Dukes shorts?

This is so cool! Good job. I have to say, back in the day, I took my '66 Mustang over a jump, got air, and boy did it slam down HARD and loud! I thought I for sure broke something. Nothing broke! I guess it was the beginning of "Ford Tough". The jump was like a flood dike on a paved road. Too tempting to pass up. Polly about in 1970. Yeah, yeah, most of you guys were not born yet....

Hell ya man! My dad was born in 56' and left us in 2020. He was the same way and know he was looking out on this jump. That being said, it was as smooth as you could imagine. Everyone who rode with me was shocked at how well the suspension worked and and how easy it was to jump. I'll 100% be out there again!

I'm so glad people do this so that I never have to! I'm the type of off-roader that wants to get places. Getting air means something is VERY wrong in my world haha

I took my '65 Mustang a little too aggressively over a railroad crossing and got enough air to break BOTH front motor mounts. They weren't originial. I had a 351M in there and it was using 1973 F150 motor mounts, If I recall correctly. The motor stayed in place but when I got home, I popped the hood and the engine was leaned over to the right. I guess that one broke and the left one was very cracked. Rubber isolators.

However, this was probably in 1986...
