Can someone please explain to me why so many of the fasteners on cybertruck are in metric sizes instead of American standard sizes?
that don't make sense if it's made in America why use metric.
Corvette, mustang, Yukon, and others are metric, including my Lightning.

US Customary has its uses: Mostly it's really good with stick building. Since it divides well by half, three, or four, and has a base unit about the size of a footprint, it's perfect for building human scale things like homes, roofs, and paths.

But once you get much larger, or tighter, tolerances - that's when metric starts to shine. And kinda why it was developed.

Rivian, Lucid, Zero Motorcycles all use metric parts. The factory Tesla bought built metric cars originally... The battery names even contain metric numbers! Of course EVs would be made metric.

And since we lost the Mars Climate Orbiter on its way to the red planet - all new spacecraft and missions have been metric. Including SpaceX.

My high-school physics teacher said he would accept any units of measure on the tests. He later demanded metric units exclusively after some joker used "footlongs per fortnight" :ROFLMAO:
