In Mexico, the inexpensive Model 3 RWD has no heated seats or heated steering wheel. Seems possible that you could get by without those features in the Middle East too.

The Mexican Model 3 RWD also has a downgraded sound system, cloth seats, white-only ambient lighting, no rear display, and acoustic glass only in the front windows. Those cost-cutting features could potentially be used on the Cybertruck RWD as well. In fact, Sawyer Merritt claims that the RWD CT has no rear display.
Tesla should cut as much of that stuff as possible to market the RWD as a work truck. Imagine a $59k RWD CT, with $7.5k tax credit. If that doesn't move, then no CT ever will.

My initial reaction stands: Interesting.

I was not expecting this data though, it feels inaccurate.

Annual Income:
  • Saudi Arabia: ~$32,100.
  • United States: ~$42,220.

The Cybertruck Long Range RWD will use a traditional coil spring suspension rather than Air Suspension like in the AWD/Beast trim.

LR RWD Cybertruck height will sit a half an inch lower compared to the standard air suspension height. Towing is reduced from 11,000, to 7,500 lbs.

Also, gasoline is relatively inexpensive in Saudi Arabia, which could make electric vehicles less attractive as alternatives. Currently averages $0.62 per liter, or about $2.35/gallon.

There goes the hope for more range if the "Long Range" is going to have 350 miles

Hopefully with the lack of air suspension, less towing, and still only 350 miles of range, etc they can get the price down to $50k here in the US

Fascinating, but one key spec seems missing at this time: the cost.

I believe Teslas get premium pricing in the Middle East. For example, a Model 3 Performance AWD currently costs $54,990 in the US (before tax credit), while the Saudi Arabian order page has it at SAR 224,990, which is approximately $59,990, or $5,000 higher. A Model Y Long-Range AWD is $48,990 in the US, but approximately $61,330 in Saudi Arabia, or about $12,000 higher.

So the RWD pricing that we eventually see in Saudi Arabia could be higher than the eventual US pricing. Or it could turn out that the RWD Cybertruck is only offered in the Middle East, because Tesla can charge a premium for it there.
Saudis have a 10% Tarrif on U.S. Vehicles imported.

Multiple people now saying no powered tonneau or outlets in bed. Those aren't confirmed like the air suspension and rear screen removal.

They are also promoting Range Extender..
Yea that is interesting, odd that they rug pulled it in the US but are promoting it there. Maybe it will see the light of day.

The conventional wisdom holds that there isn't much demand for large pickups in China or Western Europe, which are Tesla's biggest overseas markets. Pickups are more popular in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East, but those are smaller markets.
As indicated in the quoted post (from January 2025), the Middle East was considered one of the two most likely overseas markets for the Cybertruck. The other is Australia/New Zealand; Tesla sales have recently softened down there, but still seems like a potential option.

They need to do it in order to move some trucks out on the road.

Maybe. But notice that in the US, the Range Extender only disappeared from the Cybertruck order page. It's still mentioned elsewhere on Tesla's US website.

There is no Cybertruck order page for Saudi Arabia as yet, so we don't actually know if there will be an option to reserve a Range Extender or not.
