I have a Starlink mini. When suctioned to the roof on the inside of the Cybertruck it can’t find the satellites. But just sitting on the dash it pointing through the windshield it works just fine. I have seen people post online that it works for them through the roof. Anyone else had trouble getting it to work through their Cybertruck roof? I’m guessing it’s the tint interfering, but then why does it seem to work for some people but not others? My VIN is under 2000, so maybe they changed the roof tinting material at some point?

Yes, for whatever reason the early VINs have a different roof tint that blocks Starlink terminals from working.

While I had to replace one of the roof glasses on my early Model 3 and lost it, the early Model 3s had a characteristic that when it collected rain, the roof and water would glow an Amberly red, super cool.
But somewhere along the first year, they switched glass.

The orange roof Teslas will be a rare item for collectors in a few decades I think.

Also, the upper portion of my CT rear roof glass has an orange tint when water hits it. I assume everyone else has this too?

I tried this with mine. 8000+ miles with it on the dash and no issues.

Just tried the roof suction cup mount today and it can’t get signal. Mine is a August 2025 build.
