Good video but I think he is missing or forgot a few things about Cybertruck and Ford is blowing smoke & flashing mirrors.

1. Cybertruck Truck Guy said F-150 Lightning is great deal at 40K even though range is only 230mi range, He said 230mi is good enough for most local contractors even those who tow.
Well that might seem true at first but I think he might have forgotten about effects of weather, road surface, & terrain.

Cold reduces range (Truck Guy is in Kansas. In winter they get a lot of days of very very cold weather).
Snow reduces range.
Rain reduces range.
Road surface: smooth pavement is optimal. Gravel, sand, soft ground, etc all cause reduced range.
Climbing hills reduces range. Might get some back from regen braking on downhill but that is not always true. If you hauled stuff uphill but came back down empty you get very little of the uphill energy usage back.
So even if most local contractors can normally live with 230mi range, in typical real world conditions the range could easily be reduced enough that the local contractor will need the 300mi extended battery.
Also even the $52K F-150 Lightning XL for individual contractors & retail buyers does NOT include 300mi extended battery.
Many contractors will need to compare F-150 Lightning XL with extended battery (300mi) at price of $62K to $50K Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD (300 mi)

2. The full Power Onboard Pro & V2V is not included with the 40K fleet truck. The base $40K fleet truck only includes 120V outlets.
The $40K base F-150 Lightning buyer will have to pay extra for the full Power Onboard Pro version with higher Kw power levels & 240V outlets.
If there is a fleet of Cybertrucks that are in a remote area with no chargers & one truck runs low on charge even a $40K base Cybertruck that had enough energy left has a 240V outlet that could relatively quickly give some charge to another Cybertruck (V2V). $40K base F-150 Lightning only comes standard with 120V outlets.
Many contractors will need to compare F-150 Lightning XL with extended battery (300mi) at price of $62K to $50K Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD (300 mi)

3. He said workers need to reach over side of truck bed to get tools.
Cybertruck has covered & lockable storage in sail panels included. This may eliminate need for many works to need to access bed. This might also be a worker safety issue since most trucks are so high that accessing bed from side may not be safe for most workers (extra stretching & strains).
Similar storage would cost extra on F-150

4. Bed payload of F-150 Lightning with 300 mi battery will only be 1,800lbs. Cybertruck will be 3,500 lbs. Towing trailer also reduces payload limit for the truck so an already low value of 1,800 lbs could be significantly less. Payload is weight of all passengers (5-6 crew members?), tools & other stuff in cabin, tools & other stuff in frunk, tools & other stuff in bed, trailer tongue weight. Is such low payload limits of 1,800 or 2,000 lb enough?
Many contractors will need to compare F-150 Lightning XL with extended battery (300mi) to Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD (300 mi) with 3,500 lbs payload.

5. Currently both Tesla & GM/Chevy buyers are not getting $7K Federal credit/rebate. It is very likely that the current U.S. Congress will pass a budget that will give both Tesla & GM/Chevy buyers $7K Federal credit/rebate again.

6. Ford is probably going to lose money (no profit) on each F-150 Lightning sold for next 3-4 years. Instead of buying regulatory EV credits for their ICE trucks, Ford makes F-150 Lightning. Either way Ford ICE truck profits are doing the subsidizing.

7. If F-150 Lightning is really such a good deal the F-150 Lightning will be in short supply. Will Ford buyers really be able to get F-150 Lightning for prices 40K & 52K? Answer is NO, the prices will be higher. The why is DEALERS.

8. From 2022-2024 will most Ford buyers who want F-150 Lightning actually be able to get one even at high dealer price.
From 2022-2024 does Ford really want to produce 300 thousand of the F-150 Lightning annually. How much profit loss can Ford sustain.
From 2022-2024 even if Ford really wanted to produce 300 thousand of the F-150 Lightning can Ford really get enough batteries.
Tesla has planned years in advance to get batteries. I do not think that years ago Ford was prioritizing the supply of batteries and now it will be too late.
Those contractors who already placed Cybertruck reservations might get Cybertruck long before they can get F-150 Lightning.

Agreed, rarely does a vehicle get sold at Ford for MSRP.

Hopefully those making fleet management decisions will make the best decisions for their use based on their needs.

As a single unit purchaser, the CT excels at my needs over Ford. (On paper)

I am a weekend warrior who rarely uses the bed for other than toys.
