A vehicle's VIN serves as a serial number, but is also encoded with other information.
All Teslas start with "5YJ", followed by 5 digits for model/type/class. The 10th and 11th digits are the Year and Location. Year 2022 is "N", and the Austin gigafactory will be "A".
Obviously, the Year digit gets recycled over time, and the Location digit is specific to the manufacturer.
The only new car I've ever purchased was a Mazda Miata, whose VIN digits included "N" for 1992, and "A" for their primary plant (Hiroshima). So if I get a 2022 Cybertruck, it will also have the NA digits.
Here's hoping for serendipity.
