Hey All,
Just for fun. This happened to me today on the highway, unfortunately, but I am glad for the toughness of the CT skin. I hit the wheel barrel at about 40-50 mph at the on ramp. The video from my Tesla Cam will show the impact. Anyway the frunk is scratched, I could feel the mark, so it must have been hard hit. I think I could buff it out. The wheel barrel got hit and bound to my passenger side door. There are marks but I feel no depth of the scratches. My passenger side lamp has a little corner chipped off. I think it still working. I lost about 3 clips and a passenger side front fascia faring assembly. I got the part number from Tesla website catalog and contacted service department for part replacement. It cost me $74. I have a service date for next week. See my pictures and video. I hope I can upland the video. It will show better details. I am happy the CT is that tough. I love my CT

That wheel barrel came out of nowhere. ;)

Glad to hear you're okay. I think the damages would be a lot worse if you were driving regular truck.

I would think so too.

Be glad you were in the toughest truck on the road. My F-150 would have had a bout $4K worth of bodywork damage.

BTW, there is no such thing as a wheel barrel, it's wheelbarrow. I was trying to figure out that cryptic thread title until I just read it to see what it was about. Before that, I thought you had hit a wheel hub.

Glad that you are okay and the toughness of the truck paid off, but looking at the video, I feel you could have easily dodged it, if the exit was taken in time. I felt you were a little late in taking the exit.

That being said, it's always easy to sit here and criticize than to actually be there in the drivers seat, but that's how we learn, from our mistakes, right?

I don't know, I've always found it preferable to learn from others mistakes whenever possible!

You will need the entire front fascia and inner fender liner pass side. Get some extra of the push pins too that hold the liner on. The entire job will take about an hour. Fairly easy task

Need to submit this to Wham Baam!

Glad the fix was easy. If you were in the lane, you'd have missed it... But then hit those boards... Man, sometimes you're just rolling the dice with debris on the road.

I thought the same as you until pausing the start of the video. There is a lot of debris and other obstacles being avoided and likely the reason for attempting to exit later. However, not exiting looks to be the best choice there….again from a hindsight perspective only since we were there.
