Looking good!

If only someone could manufacture a decent looking camo wrap in PPF.

IMG_2175.jpeg
That'd be technically possible, but not optimal with current manufacturing processes. Let me explain...
There are basically 3 popular ways to manufacture color PPF - color infused, co-extruded and laminated.

Color infused (TWRAPS, STEK, XPEL) - in this process, the TPU resins are mixed with color pigments and whatever else goes in there (like the specs that make it look pearlescent or metallic for example). Then the whole thing is extruded and coated, but the color is part of the actual PPF. This gives superior color depth and longevity.

Co-extruded - in this process, the TPU base and the color are being extruded & fused together as they are being extruded. This performs great at stretching but you can't really do patterns. This approach gives you the same longevity as color infused but it may not give the same depth of color for some colors.

Laminated (UPPF, Inozetek etc) - in this process, you have the base TPU PPF (transparent) extruded into clear PPF which is then coated with glue and the color laminate (similar to vinyl) is added to it. The PPF and the color are essentially glued together. With this approach you can theoretically do more stuff like patterns like that but laminated PPF performs poorly when stretched and carriers a risk of delamination over time. This is generally a lower quality PPF that neither has longevity nor depth.

Here is an example of laminated PPF being removed...notice how the color particles remained on the truck. That's the reason we don't do laminated :)

For a company that is selling a change in the “look” of a vehicle, your photos and renders are terrible. When I first looked at your site I dismissed it because I don’t want a PPF with tiger stripes or palm fronds. Can you provide some renders without the funky shadowing and palm tree shapes? Also, how about some actual photos? I’d love to see some detail shots in particular around the trim, the edges, etc. Your PPF products look interesting but the details matter and that doesn’t come through on your current website. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, well noted!
A few remarks:
1. There are actual photos there but not of all colors as I have installed all colors here. Scroll though the pictures or scroll down for actual photos.
2. Tiger marks? We never had that… perhaps thinking of someone else? Or did you mean the one with the American flag? Or do you mean you confused the shadows with tiger stripes?
3. The scene for the renders is made so that we can show shadows and light as some of the colors look different in different lighting conditions. The TWRAPS reflection on the windshield is made so that our photos are not so easily stolen and reused.
4. Details request - I plan on shooting a walk around video to show all this, very soon. I have a satin white install today, maybe I will do it on this one, or if it doesn’t contrast too much I have a blue and purple phantom blue coming up after that - I will make it with these. This is definitely on todo.

By tiger stripes I’m referring to the rendered shadows on your images. Net net, some of your competitors like OCDetailing do an excellent job of documenting their work and providing a great perspective of what the vehicle is going to look like when their work is done. You should consider investing in doing something similar, as it will help sell your products and services. Right now there aren’t enough quality photos or video on your site to provide any real perspective.

Thanks for the advice, well noted! I will be adding more content as time goes by and we gather it and learn from trial & error. For perspective, we released this less than a month ago.

The shadows reveal what the wrap looks like in different lighting, and are more difficult to make 'right' in renders anyhow.

I spoke with a UPPF rep in the US when I was researching and they told me it’s laminated.

Thank you! I’ve been asking every wrap company if they make a smoked clear wrap. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

I live in NJ and don’t want to ship my truck. Know anyone in the NJ/NY area that can install this for me? They all seem to want me to buy their own wraps.

I am planning to trade-in our Model S for the Cybertruck in a few months.

Just saw this post about the 50% Tinted PPF, and I loved the look!

We live around the Castro Valley area, which is pretty close to Concord. Look forward to getting our Cybertruck, and visiting your shop to get it wrap (hopefully in a short few months.)
