Is this a 2023 or 2024 model year vehicle? I don't recall anyone indicating if the current deliveries are 2023 or 2024. I would guess they must be 2024 model year vehicles given how late we are in 2023. Curious to know. Thanks!

Who said it matters??? I'm just curious if the first model year for the Cybertruck will be 2023 or 2024? I imagine all the recent deliveries are likely 2024 model year vehicles, but who the hell knows. I don't recall anyone indicating they took delivery of a 2023 or 2024? Could be a short run of 2023 model year vehicles and then shift to 2024 model year vehicles (with no year over year changes).

You know, it might just make a big difference. I would rather acquire a new 2024 vehicle in December 2023 than a 2023 vehicle. A new 2023 would already be considered (viewed) a year old in just a few short months.

I suspect that Tesla would rather begin production of a new product in Oct/Nov 2023 as 2024 model year vehicle so they can post a significant number for the first year of production run.

Like everything else, it depends. If you keep your cars for a short period, but you put a lot of miles on a car, then buying a 2023 at the end of the year makes sense. When you sell it in 2025, you have 2 years worth of mileage on a "3 year old" car. You also probably paid less for it, absorbing some of the depreciation of the vehicle.

Sorry, but you won’t get two crates back-to-back for 55lb dogs.

Even if you squeeze a 55lb dog into a 36” crate, that’s 72” of kennel in a truck with only 57” of rear hip room.

A single 40” crate will likely work, though. This is one in an F150 - which has a good bit more rear

custom aluminum boxes might be had from hunting dog outfitters, but may require removal of the rear seats


but for you and the dogs, two seatbelt harnesses will be safer

According to the VIN Tracking Thread, the Release Candidates are 2023 (...PARnnnnn), while the production builds are 2024 (...RAnnnnnn).

Thank you so much, sounds like all builds are 2024 model year vehicles. They should have a decent number of units produced in the initial model year for Cybertruck!

Tesla apparently switched to how legacy manufacturers assign the year of the vehicle. It used to be that 2024 models would actually start production in January.

I have yet to see a federally required Monroney /window sticker posted on this forum for a Cybertruck.

I would imagine the tonneau cover has a pressure sensor that if your arm is in the way or other obstacle, then it will retract. Similar to what automatic windows do for most vehicles now, it has safety functionality built in to prevent chopping off arms or dog's heads leaning out the window.

if its smaller then a carry on suitcase then you have no worries. I must say I do love the idea of having few of these in the frunk

Unlike a window, that the driver can easily see what is going on in the vehicle before pushing the button, snowflakes would immediately file a lawsuit based upon poor design.

Not one of those will fit. There will be aftermarket companies build ONE that fits with exact dimensions.

What also would be great is a rubber overlay for the rear door inside to make the inside of the door dog saliva proof…… think St. Bernard etc…….
