I honestly am not sure. Once the free iron is in the pores, I'm not sure that going over the surface with BKF will remove it. I would wet it down a few times with water to try to force it to rust if it's going to before you get that wrap. you don't want to trap free iron under there.
Wetting it down here in Washington is a certainty ? I’ll do that, then try another application of BKF

hold off on the BKF. Let it air dry a couple of times to see if it will rust. you want to know if there is free iron embedded in there, hitting it with BKF will just mask it potentially. If it doesn't, you're good to go. If it does, I might contact your showroom so that they don't do it again, and probably to have them refinish that panel according to the service manual. That *should* take care of embedded iron

The matte screen protector does it dull the sharpness of the screen at all ? is it a lot dimer ?

which one did you buy ?
I bought the one from Twraps. I’ll need more time to fully evaluate, but initially it turned out great. I installed later in the day so will inspect closer for any air bubbles this afternoon.

so you cant really tell that the screen is duller or dimer ? it looks pretty much the same from a picture. i dont like glossy so really curious how matte looks.

The question is more did the SC actually use steel wool, and if they did how do you remedy that. It's already too late to figure out alternate ways to have dealt with it.
I just sent an email to my SA and asked to confirm what the detailer was using.

It looked great to me with brightness on auto. However, I would like to manually adjust brightness to lower levels just to see how it performs.

I also have the matte on our model Y https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084BNC3FG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works great. It's amazing how much it reduces glare and finger prints. Would love to see Twraps include an installation aide like Spigen as that make install a breeze.

Wonder if this type of stainless steel wool is appropriate and won’t cause rust spots?

It's not a big deal, even if they did use steel wool. Just wet polishing it with soap and water and a microfiber towel would probably remove it if done before it got wet. If it got wet and dried, a non-woven fine abrasive pad would probably remove it without changing the appearance much. If you want to be extra particular, I bet a clay bar and some soap and water would work without changing the appearance of whatever finish you've got happening on there. A pressure washer would probably work too.

Lots of ways to skin a cat, it's just super hard stainless steel, not fragile paint.

Clay bar will probably do something for it assuming it doesn't smear into the surface.

But someone posted here about a delorean that was finished with steel wool, and rusted in a way that BKF couldn't just fix because the iron was in the pores of the stainless.

I don't know what the right answer is, I just know that I read about the delorean story, and it did not seem like it was an easy fix.

If a pressure washer wouldn't fix it, a polish with non-woven abrasive pad certainly would!

Hence my suggestion for the nuclear option, the service center refinishing that panel. That's basically what that process is.

If it's a problem at all, it was caused by them, so they can fix it
